  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IBC - GPU Build REDCINE-X Beta 21

Is it possible for Redcine-X to use 90 to 100% GPU load? I'm seeing up GPU load (through GPU-Z) go up to 50% max at times. My CPUs hover around 90% (through task manager).

I'm using a GTX 660 right now, I'm just trying to figure out the bottleneck right now before I upgrade it to a 780 or Titan.

Is there a reason why I am getting black frames when exporting raw Dragon test clips as an EXR sequence?

Edit: Having OPENCL turned on with a K6000 Quadro card produces black frames. Turning GPU off exports an image but when viewing the exr file it looks like an Andy Warhol painting. Something is definitely funky.

Outside of a Red Rocket, what GPU in a 2012 12 core Mac Pro can get me close to real time batch renders of 4KHD to Proress 422? Is a Titan the best option?

Thanks Guys!

Hi Joe,

Can you give us more details on the 680? How many fps are you getting on full debayer renders? Is playback in 4k at full resolution 24fps?

thanks :)

I rarely try to playback raw camera files, I transcode them and play them back.

5k transcodes at 2x real time, 4k at close to real time. Full res debayer on both.

Simply go through this thread, where the questions you're asking are covered in depth.

you want 680 with 4GB of VRAM if you can find one they're kinda hard now since the 7xx series are out

Bought a 690 and didn't realize the BETA Cine-X doesn't support Dual GPU so I'm running at half speed. It's full potential is not unleashed! mwuahahaha

I've heard rumors of the GPU Build of Cine-X leaving BETA by January 2014. I dont know wether or not if its Dual GPU Accelerated, we wont know til the day.

I'm crossing my fingers tho ;)

Yup.. hit release today :) Enjoy.

Dear Lord!
Final AND support for multiple GPU devices. That should make an incredible difference. Btw, can RedcineX use external cards in thunderbolt enclosure or do they have to be internal?

Cheers!
/Andreas
