So Rad.
Question, The Auto Cal seems to take about 25-30min, is it taking all resolution/fps/shutter combo's into account or just fps/shutter combos based on the one resolution you're calibrating at?
Thx!!! Congrats!
Once you run the Auto Cal, the sensor is calibrated over the full range of exposures (from 1 sec on down) and is very stable across the cameras usable temperature range. The calibration is maintained across boots and firmware upgrades.
so how often should it be done? from what you are saying it seems like you do it once and never have to do it again, is that true? what are the conditions that would have you question your cal, perhaps noise at the higher iso's?
It will really only need to be done if we optimize the sensor or calibration any further, which we will update in the firmware release notes (or notification upon install)
It's still a good idea to monitor noise with higher gain or ISO, and we do still offer manual calibration id there is a case that Auto Cal doesn't handle.
On the GIOscope, what I like to do is black shade so only the first level is purple across the entire sensor, since the current default is not to push the noise that far down (i.e. on the gioscope normally the first three levels are active after black shade, with the 2nd level being the dominant). Only way to push the black shade down a bit the current dragon is to black shade one stop faster on exposer (i.e. i shoot 24 fps at 1/48th, so i need to black shade at 1/96). Is there anyway to effect the black shade, so those that want to push the no information bits(i.e. first couple of lower order bits) down can with this new setup(i.e. since this exposure method will break my current method)?Once you run the Auto Cal, the sensor is calibrated over the full range of exposures (from 1 sec on down) and is very stable across the cameras usable temperature range.
