  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FEB Update / IPP2 Preview 2

Is it a normal behaviour that the display on the Redtouch LCD (7") becomes much warmer, including the UI, when I switch a LUT on ? (any LUT)
It looks like if I had activated the nightshift mode on my iPhone...
That color shift is only on the display, not in the file itself.

Epic-W, Redtouch 7", latest firmware.

It happens to me as well, not just when I apply the LUT, also when I change the color space.

That's good to hear that things are speeding up.

Looks about a 6 month wait for a scarlet-w now, but just curious now since my pre-order for a Scarlet-W has been in since January of 2016?

Gene, I haven't heard of anything yet. I'm S-W #75 & went in for the upgrade minutes after the announcement.

Thanks Fegus.

Jarred or Brent? Any chance us lowly existing S-W to E-W owners can get a break? I know we're kind of at the back of the bus but still would be great to get some E-W love soon.

Guys, I'd like to save a preset that use REDWideGamutRGB/Log3G10 and a lut.

I can save Color Space and Gamma Space in a preset but it seems that I can't save a LUT, ot at least I don't know which is the command in the presets list of commands, do you know if it's possible?

thanks

I'm having this same issue, IPP2 is just looking like a green shift, this must not be applying correctly.
Just spoke with a Red rep. and they said the UI should not be changing at all...trying to get back through to tech. support now.

Hi Jarred have you got an update or any information on the SW's delivery's?

I think my bomb rep is going to have a breakdown if i contact her again:)

Completely understand and respect your situation with the sensors and backlog but i need a delivery date to make the call on what to do.

The last thing i want to do is leave the red family but this is getting a bit crazy as all my bomb rep can do is repeatedly suggest i get an epic W or don't hold me breath and keep an eye on reduser for an update from you as she has no information and can not tell me anything.

Like i said i really don't want to leave the red eco system she's been good to me

cheers

To me with my Weapon MG I shot a music video last weekend with redwidegamuth and 3gslog10 on camera. But for some reason the RMD keeps the older color science by default so I have to manually do it again in post. The prores did bake the widegsmma and slog10 though, but the raw didn't.

I am too impressed with the look. It's amazing. Also I followed Phil charts and tips. Shot at 1280 ISO on daylight as I wanted to really test and WOW!!! Super Clean Image with a nice grain. I see more film like images now with all this new approach. And it's not even a Helium I am using yet.

Super Happy !!! :)

Hi,
When using redwidegamuth and 3gslog10 on camera (Scarlet W), my histogram is "compressed" and it does not stretch all the way to reach the goal posts. No big deal, but curious to know if this is an expected behavior when monitoring with redwidegamuth/3gslog10?
I am attaching two snapshots: one with Dragon/gamma4 and one with redwidegamuth/3gslog10

Thanks.
cheers

I have the same thing on my scarlet-w, the graph seems to end at 75% to te highlights (right part of it).
I'm using the 17x17x17 luts somebody posted.

Thanks, Carlo. This happens to me without any luts applied, though; just by selecting the redwidegamuth/3gslog10 profile.

You're right, same thing here, just checked.

Does it do that also on the Helium? Is it the way it should be or it's because of the early release of the ipp2?

That's just how log encodings work and distribute code values. This is also why Full IPP2 is more than just a cube LUT! I've been working on some histogram math to make the historgram much more usable on a log signal.

those stills are gorgeous

Any idea of how to make GIO scope usable with the new IPP2? I was using it yesterday on a job and GIO is normally how I expose (either for stop 10 or 11). But with RWG and L3G10 and medconrollofff4 GIO looked by eye about 2 stops under. Thanks

We're looking at all the exposure tools as part of the Full IPP2 firmware.
