  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC production...

Stage 4 (No previous RED to trade in/Also called: Sanjin)

Confusion...

 + + =

Actually I'm interested in EPIC-S only,

and looking forward to the info that will show up soon about EPIC-S TAILORED specs in a comparison with EPIC-X or M...

In that case we'll see if RED is any different than other brands like a Sony, Panasonic, Canon, etc,...

Also I do have a great hope that RED will show a big difference in that case!!!

All that means EPIC-S would need 60 fps of max speed @ 5K,...

120 fps on EPIC-X or M is not so attractive to me just because I'm interested in ultra slow motion over 1000 fps only

and there is no such digital camera with that speed at the high resolution of 5K today...

Also Phantom 65 can do max at 140 fps @ higher res {4K (4096 x 2440) resolution, active-pixel CMOS sensor 1 to 140 frames-per-second (fps) at full resolution},

but again that's not enough...

So EPIC-S with 5K @ 60 fps that's quite enough resolution (5K) and pretty good speed for me...

Also HDRx functionality is limited to 60 fps.

I second that!!!

We not only paid the deposit, but we followed on with the entire Stage 2 balance nearly a year ago. Its not easy to do this- to have Red hold onto our cash for almost a whole year. That's about a $20K deposit in the first national bank of Red. We also thought we'd have the Epic in our hands by now.

I know I got a fanboy slant to my posts.

The difference between a fanboy and a loyal customer is that deposit. Your a loyal customer and I'm sure you'll get rewarded by RED and by your clients.

Really starting to wonder why I bothered forking out $5000 nearly 12 months ago to try to get at least somewhere near the start of the queue.

Looks like I would have been better off making 5000 posts on reduser going wooohooo.

It appears that investment will get you a camera a couple months earlier than others. What's more important, the Stage 2 package is a fantastic value for modules and accessories.

It's clear that Jim is sharing everything about schedule that he absolutely knows, and that there are many parts of this equation that are not known, like how fast the new line will run. So stay in line or get your $5000 back. I'd love to know exactly when my camera will arrive, but I'd rather let the team keep making cameras than tending to my individual needs. Or you can drop 80K on an Alexa, and still not know a delivery date.

just wondering if they have come up with a pricing list for Epic X of brains and package ready to use kit?? if no pricing yet np!!

Stage 6...

I know
Tattoo
Stage 1.5 (M)
Stage 2 (X)
Stage 3 (Trade in)
Stage 4 (No previous RED to trade in/Also called: Sanjin)
Stage 5 (The mystery stage)
Stage 6 (Where the Epics have beem built up to now...)

Confusion...

Stage 4 is as far as it goes ;)

Stage 6, is the actual Building named Stage 6 at RED STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD were the RED Army has been doing all their work with
Test and production of the EPIC M Cameras, now been moved to their new Production Plant in an undisclosed Irvine location.

Agreed, ordering through Alan at RED Europe would be preferable on this side of the pond.

Great Idea.. except Alan will be in Vegas with us during NAB :)

Jarred

Anyone else we could order with over here in the UK instead of Alan? Would be nice to have a Red Europe Store with UK £ and Euro prices? Or the chance to switch £ to £ or Euro on the US Red Store.

Please?!?!?!?!?!?
:-)

Steve

May I ask whether the prices will stay the same if I buy a Scarlet in UK? Because for most things, it's cheeper to buy a ticket, fly to US and buy it there. Prices in Europe are atrocious.

I heard that certain fastfood chains print the same menus for US and UK. For price they put the same number but different currency signs. :) I hope it won't be the case with RED!

Last time I asked.... they said the camera price will be the same.... just the cost of shipping and your country's tax will be added.

Remember that most of the US prices are shown on internet without local taxes.
