Jarred, will Epic M upgrades be done by original delivery date or by upgrade order date and time?

So Jarred -how are those calculations for the Epic-M upgrade to Carbon coming?
I can't imagine the price being any different than the surcharge Carbon Dragon owners paid over purchasing a regular Epic-M... In that case, approx. 10K for the sensor and 20K for the Carbon/Magnesium upgrade... THAT'S what everyone should be expecting...

Agreed - but it's also possible that it's is slightly more as I suspect it's actually more labor intensive to upgrade than build from scratch - and we don't really know how much of the approx. $10K upgrade fee is hardware vs. labor - I can't imagine it would be less than approx. $30k - I suspect we will all know soon enough![]()
I guess the other question is going to be where the MX to Dragon CF concept fits in the rather complex queue...?
Great... we have a plan....
We have committed to doing this.. but we need another 10 days or so to get all the numbers together from all the teams involved. It is a complete camera disassemble since so many parts are changed in the process to goto Carbon so everyone in manufacturing and assembly is involved in this.
But don't let that $care you, Our assembly team are little ninjas and they can break down a camera and build it up pretty quick, so we should hopefully be able to get closer to Chris Probst's assumption rather than the other way.

Which is an AMAZINGLY fair deal! I had to shoulder the resale loss of value on my Epic M to go directly to a Carbon... THIS path allows one to avoid that fee entirely. I can foresee a slightly different pricing from going from an Epic X to Carbon, than an Epic M, since there was a premium paid on the M already and the Carbon bodies are all Epic Ms...
Makes me wish I kept my original Epic brain and carbonized it!
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it would seem people are equating 'carbon' with 'now'- surely that's only the case for outright purchases. Upgrading I would expect to be just an alternative upgrade at the time your number's up?
