  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon Update + A.D.D.

I didn't realize REDLINE was "hidden". But yeah, I guess it's one of my secret weapons for rapid renders. Would be really cool to have a network render client & manager functionality built right into RC-X though.

Guess it's another late night for me ;)

You guys never stop! That's one of the reasons I support you guys so strongly and will continue to. Now I just need to mug someone for a Dragon.

I use REDLINE a bit when using my "Mini DITty" setup to quickly develop thumbnails and quicktimes, which I integrate into PDFs and web pages to send to clients. Think interactive contact sheets.

Phil, an you elaborate a bit on how you do this? sSounds like a really useful tool.

It's a quick program. Slam a REDMAG into the reader and drag it over the icon, it creates:

- REDMAG Report (take name, length, format, fps, etc.) with 3-5 thumbnails from within the take
- Fast preview quicktimes
- HTML or PDF Mag summaries
- It then populates a project database with the preview files that can "live" on the machine. This database has some unique features like adding notes, making selects, etc...

Prior to all of that it securely copies the data to two separate drives (that's how I usually have it setup) and verifies it. .R3Ds are dropped into individual shoot day folders on the big drives, so there's no data confusion down the line.

I used it for the commercials I shot between 2012 and 2013 and it was very effective. I want to update it with a couple more features before shooting something "larger" around May.

Which reminds me, maybe I'll add to the code a bit this weekend.

So you've created a program to do all of this? How much do you want for a 1 seat license? :)

That sounds like a genuinely useful tool, Phil. I love software, but I'm not nearly enough of a coder for that kind of project. Is this a Windows hack or something in Linux?

I think people in this thread asking what REDLINE is kinda answers that.

...Makes me wonder the actual percentage of users who don't RTFM? ;)

Is there a downloadable sharp , short motion sequence of Dragon footage to test with ?
I seem to only have stills around. ADD needs motion.
Thanks

heh heh. I think most people skim by it , see it, and don't stop.

I am willing to bet that a huge percentage of Mac users now-adays see " OPEN TERMINAL " and stop reading.

Damn! I need A.D.D for motion. This is awesome. It seems to bring out more exposure in the low end, reduce noise, and sharpen to your taste. Bad ass. Is it safe to assume that this is basically a RCX version of Adobe Camera Raw? Either way it's amazing.

This compressed jpeg doesn't do it justice. (right-click, open in a new tab)

(Footage is not mine, but was made available on Reduser and shot in 5.5k HD & 4.5k HD) I'd love to see some 6K FF footage.

I really need a Dragon :(
