  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon Update + A.D.D.

Added a few little things like an optional UnSharp Mask setting , which is now actually useful since the image after A.D.D. is so much cleaner that you don't end up just sharpening noise.

really like that un sharp mask option. The 1,2,3 sharpening is ok, but this is going to be great.

Any way we can get the ADD button in Red? As in, "I'm going to have to the red button on this still!"

Yup Rob and team are getting it ready for release tonight if all goes well. We ended up making a few extra adjustments at the last minute, exited to hear what you guys think.

Cannot wait for this :)

Im pulling stills via ADD and the TIFF is actually one or two frames off from the actual frame in RCX.. Cant post still because of NDA but it is happening.. Any other DRAGON users experiencing this?

BTW, the ADD stills look fucking amazing!

Yes I had a lot of frames off because I did put an In and Out in the viewer. When I had the whole clip in the viewer it did work right.

Interesting what's happening with regard to sharpness. An example here, super zoomed in on a res chart http://kippertie.com/red/debayer/

Roll over the image with your mouse to switch between default software debayer and ADD.

Indeed! This is why I will be re-running all the tests I did last week...

Yup...

Did some extremes...
Those are really telling.

More to follow.

But ADD is definitely "the shit".

Will be kinda hard NOT to use this.

If it could get GPU accelerated... :)

Since we're talking about R3D Snapshots here, I've got a request for Trent and the team - or maybe I'm just missing it.

It seems there's no way to batch R3D snapshots the way they are produced when clicking on the icon.
Usually I mark the frames, create stills and now when exporting the stills I can only export R3D trims.
When I export the R3D trims, I get a folder for each frame and the frames are all named the same.

When clicking on the snapshot icon, the frame number is added to the file name, but not with the R3D trims.

Any workaround for this, or is this a reasonable request?

Mark, I'm sure that'll come soonish!

I also wish there was AMXD :) but oh well, in the end we'll all be dragon masters, I assume... Just that this "end" is still a bit out for some :/
