  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon / Epic / Scarlet Camera Release Build v5.1.34

I wonder if other components will be carbonized? The other big heavy accessory is the monitor. Perhaps RED will redesign it with carbon and deal with the flip issue then? Just talking out loud

FEATURE REQUEST: Toggle HDRx Track

Essentially the ability map to a button to display the different "tracks" to change the shutter speed so we can see what's being captured.

On the GUI it would be nice to have an HDRx status stating "HDRx Track A" or "X" when toggling. While I know it's a niche feature, it would be useful for those who use this feature, especially those shooting nature material in the field.

This might be something to also include in the HDRx GUI menu as a item to include.

Thank you.

That would be cool but already the screen is no indication of what the real story is.

Yes, but having the stoplights and histogram reflect the X-Track exposure would be a tremendous help in reality. Currently it only sees the A-Track exposure and gives you than info. It would be great to quickly swap over to see if you have the appropriate setting with HDRx to cover your desired exposure.

Gotchya. I definitely agree by using the exposure tools.

Does anybody know if with this of grey I could shoot at 4k I 36 frames per second I don't see it in any of the writing but I was told the beta can do it thank you in advance

Good idea bob, I'm more concerned about the lack of info on the red rocket dragon upgrade
Support. I've signed up for the dragon upgrade but if no support for the current rr I may have to re consider . Does anyone know if this is the case?

It would be good if red can confirm this to be the case as I'm probably not the only one who may have to reconsider the dragon upgrade for the trade in due to the cost increase if they allow me:/

++1 This would be very useful. Great suggestion Phil.

It was said that GPUs (and CUDA/OpenCL debayering support) would end up being better than the original Rocket sooner rather than later, so they aren't spending much time on optimizing the original Rocket to run Dragon footy.

I just had the touch screen go black as I switched from 4K WS to 4K. I was using the DSMC Side handle to perform the action. I had to unplug and then replug the LCD cable to restore the image.

in this version. How do i get the shutter to be relative to the framerate, and showing it in sec instead of degrees. Because if i change it to relative, it only show degrees and isn't always relative also, sometimes it changes and sometimes it doesn't...

Really like the huge raw overlay when in raw mode so that doesn't happen by accident anymore, furthermore like the menu's also. Only the media menu in playback is a bit hidden away, and thumbnails for playback would be nice, as also the darker color for guide frames. When shooting 5K HD with a 2:39 guideframe i normally put the opacity outside the guideframe to 75%, but in playback there only 2 lines, would be nice to have it the same as in record mode :)

And what would be really if magnify during recording would be possible. And if there is a way to hide all the mees in the frame when swithcing between magnify and normal and between playback and record, just black or an image freeze would be fine, but not all the stripes and bits, pureley not to upset people onset watching monitors who think something is wrong, would be nice to have a solution for that

Relative mode always displays in angles now and absolute in time. If you want to see the conversion you can see it on the spinner. I don't know what you mean by "sometimes it changes and sometimes it doesn't". What doesn't change? When?

The frame guides are the same in record mode and playback. I'm not sure what you mean about only having two lines. The only difference is if you have look around enabled as we can't show you the look around area in playback as it's not recorded. If you can take a picture of what you are talking about and post it that could help.

Please RED Team,

Rec/Stop 'beep' only works when Audio record is active. When you don't want to record sound on camera or want to save SSD disk (and deactivate Audio record), Rec/Stop ''beep'' doesn't work :( Please it will be VERY useful the ability to activate this 'beep' even when your audio channels are deactive on camera. Thanks!!!

Thanks for reporting this bug.

Happy New Year to all, and to start off the new year with something to keep you busy, Here is the DSMC Release Build 5.1.34.

Enjoy!

Significant changes since previous Release build v4.0.18:

* Added User Lens Calibration (rudimentary support for unsupported lenses)

Nice! Thanks.
Any chance for AF support on other (non-G) top Nikkor lenses?
Such as:
Nikkor AF-S 17-35D IF-ED2.8
Nikkor AF-S 80-200D IF-ED 2.8

It's very rare that I criticize Red for anything but I feel something needs to be said here. After three or four firmwear upgrades I still get the dreaded half black half white screen on my monitor upon startup... why in the world is this not fixed?
