It is becoming apparent by the mellow tone of your posts that you are sitting on the prototype(s) of the next phase of products that you know are where the real advancements will occur. Am I getting warm?
Not too long ago, in a thread close by, Jim said - and I quote verbatim - "You have no idea."

Jim, I fully appreciate your honesty and forthright nature. Thank you for that.

You guys were the first and still the only people making what I want out of a camera system. That's the overpowering reason that I support Red. You changed the landscape of the motion picture camera industry. History will remember that and I won't forget it anytime soon.

I am quite comfortable that EPIC is as useful a tool as it gets.

Jim

As am I. I won't press further for what you are working on.

Dear Jim I am so attached to my rigs, I use them all and for personal use. I would love a Meizler but I would have to sell Scarlet #0505... Not worth in in my book. My birthday is Nov. 2nd... Somehow I hope to place an order for a Meizler by that date.

Love you Jim, prices go up and down such is life, don't lose sleep over any of this.

My Best, Paul

thanks Jim. I think its effin nuts that you guys went from "we have no idea what we are doing" to "holy shit, look how much we can do." rock on!!

I just came home from a shoot that I think that shows how much JiM and RED are alike.....
We were shooting on a project with the Monochrome and at the end of the day i pointed out the cameras (light) sensitivity and all i heard were that the Epic MM could see better in the darkness of our set(total blackness) than their own eyes......

Thats is pretty amazing and make s me realize that RED and its heart are in a diferent level in the industry... They look further and therefore, see better ....

T Y...

<Snip> Everything we do is for our customers. I guess I would bet on us to do the very best we can to put cameras in the hands of as many as possible.

Not much more complicated than that.

Jim

Hasn't that always been the case? Glad to see not everything changes.

Any early pricing hints Jim?

He is waiting for Sony to make first move..then he will have a glass of Australian Shiraz...and then after that he will settle down on $25,000...:banghead:

Jim,

Thanks for everything, not just the camera, but all your support. The way you guys focus on education, it really helps bridge that large gap from the amateur to the professional.

Adam

There is no question that we will take the Sony announcement into consideration. :-)

Jim

Exciting times. Thanks Jim for giving me a career (not just a job) but mostly a path to a dream.

Jim,

Everything changes... As a DOP all I want is choices.... When we had Kodak with 8 stocks, and Fuji with 6 stocks and Agfa (yes Agfa) with 3 stocks we might have been loyal to Kodak but was happy with the fact that people/companies were trying to make different/better products.

I love my Epic. I know that things will change faster and faster. I think you have the passion and smarts to keep making a superior product. Arri might keep up close to you... Sony, Canon and the others not so much unless they really listen to the DOPs and ops and Acs.....

You can only do what you have been doing..... Keep it up

Peter

I really believe that RED will distance ourselves from the competition more in the next year than ever before.

In less than 4 months I turn 60 (ouch - pains me to say it) but, partially thanks to RED, I am having the time of my life and fully expect the next two decades to be the most enjoyable, most productive and most satisfying of my life. I LOVE this shit! RED keeps it exciting and I want to personally thank Jim and all his crew for doing what they do. You can get bored with a lot of things over 60 years so it's really cool to find something this much fun when you aren't expecting it.
