  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

 So you're giving your machinists grief the way some of us give you?
Can't wait to see a functioning unit.

Will you automatically charge the card and ship? Or will people with previous deposits be pre-contacted? (I had a Nikon rez, but I just want the Canon version now until Nikon is ready).

Erik, let me echo what Paolo said: is someone in your company answering emails?

I wrote you guys a week or two ago about a change in my credit card number. I know you don't want us to call, but at some point we need to have some kind of communication. Please advise.

First batch should go to plating tuesday morning, and arrive at our office wednesday afternoon...

So, can I have mine thursday morning FEDEX 10:30? The barracuda feeding dive where spencer slate feeds a huge barracuda with a ballyhoo held in his teeth is friday morning,

I got a confirmatin e-mail on nov 30th too

Ordered the EF-mount by fax Monday November 26th in the morning (GMT-2h). It's #54. Credit card was charged in December.

I placed an order late (as in, January) and got a confirmation number in the "109" group.

First three numbers of my confirmation are also 107 - I placed the order in Nov 30 and got confirmation Jan 23 - credit card had been charged. I though that 107 was my reservation number

well I hope everything works itself out.... seems like if people who ordered in January.... then the people who ordered in Nov and Dec should have some kind of confirmation/charge....

Erik thank you so much for the time you have put into thise great product, let me/us know when we can pay in full.

How do you know about the #54? I didn't get that info with my order.

I made a phone call to Erik before he asked not to call in this thread. Though, told Erik that I feel almost guilty calling him, but he was very kind and understood that I needed some estimate of when getting the adapter to make my own decisions how to go on with the camera.

Birger "I didn't get a confirmation for my order yet thread"

Birger "I didn't get a confirmation for my order yet thread"

For those that may have missed it. We started a thread for this a while ago, and the moderators made it a sticky.

Since it is obvious that Erik at Birger hasn't finished the paperwork side of things, and there is no way he's going to be able to sort through 72 pages of the old reservations thread, I started a new thread specifically for those that sent in an order but HAVEN'T been billed OR confirmed - the (Birger "I didn't get a confirmation for my order yet thread") .

Please don't put the gripes or other questions on that thread. I'm not trying to stifle anyone's expression - just think those might as well stay on this original thread:

Again, please don't post anything over there unless it is that you had faxed or emailed an order but didn't get any confirmation AND you didn't get billed a deposit on your credit card. If he billed your credit card he obviously got it and unless you want it cancelled now don't post there.

Aqua, I got a confirmation, but my company's credit card number has since changed. I need some kind of contact with Birger before they try to charge the balance. I understand the "do not call" directive, but they're not responding to emails either. How should we go about communicating with them?

We have a long back log of email communications. We will contact people before charging credit cards for the balance. I ask everybody to take it easy for a couple more days.

We received 100 lens mounts from laser engraving yesterday. The next 100 are at plating.

We have first ten sets of mechanical parts for the RED camera adapter coming tonight by courier (so my shop says). The parts went to plating first thing this morning with a healthy bribe. As soon as I see parts we will give the final go ahead for 200 sets. Material is already being blanked, it is just one of the later operations that we want to verify after seeing the first real parts.

The special circuit board for the RED camera adapter will be here tomorrow morning. This just has a bluetooth module and connectors on it. AquaVideo and Rodney Charters are probably the only ones getting a mount this week. They are two of the four people working with us since day one on the product.

The circuit boards for the knobs will be here friday morning. Knobs will be in production next week.

I will be in Las Vegas from Sunday through Wednesday next week. Production will be going on while I am gone, but no shipments will happen until I return. I am the quality control guy when something new starts shipping.

I will be at the REDuser party situated between AquaVideo and ViewFactor Studios. It will be a hands on opportunity with a production mount on a RED camera, connected to a prototype knob and an HDMI monitor. This is the one time that I will be available to talk with customers... unless of course, somebody recognizes me on the floor of NAB... oh wait... nobody knows what I look like. :bleh:

Next pictures and status sometime on thursday. From this point forward we are going to be very public, and will share the good and the bad.
