The "box" is smaller than the Scarlet Dragon but as you can see from the photos it is the same size as Weapon, so all the DSMC² ( i.e. Weapon ) modules will work.

And Raven is the lightest camera we have ever made....

o boy. You guys got me started...

I just purchased an Inspire. Don~t make me regret it man! :)

I was hoping but what would they do with more MX sensors you know? Im hoping they would but I guess well see.

4k on scarlet MX is 22,1mm, 2mm more than Raven. Maybe people should buy a Raven and still keep the scarlet. It's a nice B cam. Selling the brain would not make a lot of money and let's not forget that many great movies were shot @4K on MX and they looked great.

Nice with a few updates.

OK, so EF mount—that's good. The Canon 11-24 f4 rectilinear is starting to look good...

Based on Jarred's sensor size spec, it's a clean 4k cut out of Dragon. The 4.5k would be larger than APS-C. Raven will split the difference between APS-C and MFT, being clearly closer to APS-C.

I actually think it's a sweet size for many projects, but it's a bit of a bummer in the stills department for those of us looking for one single camera.

With the impressive 120fps spec (hard compression?), let's at least hope that lower fps gives us fat files with low compression.

APS-C 1.6x, Red Dragon 4.5 k 1.66x, 4k 1.87. It is most likely 4k max but....

Hey Jarred I tought you was sleeping already. ;)
C'mon

I'm not... but I think Brent is.. so lets have some fun :)

Hahahha Great, keep it!
No more sleep to me ... It's 4:46 am down here.

Oh damn, well I guess I'll grab another beer and chill for a bit more. Sorry to my gf in bed.

People please let the man talk. As you were saying Mr. Jarred?

Now I don´t feel so bad about that canceld job today. This is what I call entertainment

from what I know so far, I am wanting this camera more and more every day! Please let me send you my scarlet plus some money for this Jarred.

The 5" touch and my current v mount will work with this I assume?

In terms of low budget projects and so on there will be awesome to have Veydra lenses with EF MOUNTS and my happiness will be boundless

I've always been Nikon in the past but this looks like a Canon EOS fixed. Any Canon users familiar with adapters from Canon to Nikon glass... or even Canon to Medium Format Pentax 6x7 or Mamiya 645 glass?

From what I have heard from users (but not yet tested, will hopefully this week) canon lenses play nicer with the RCP than Nikons, and if what feedback I have had holds true, it does so in a way significant enough to say: Go EF. (For all remote control applications. For manual use, it's a wash).

I have a hunch Mikael and Jarred are having a ball these days

Heh, I've just finished buying lenses for Weapon and don't relish kitting out a second camera separately. If I can't shoot the same glass (i.e., what I already have) I'll probably wait for something BT Dragon or used for a b camera.

Or maybe as you say, manual lens solution. With the high resolution of the Weapon VV sensor I'll be shooting locked off anyway. Would likely do the same with b camera so with a little depth of field I should be able to cover any movement if not too extreme.

Maybe people should buy a Raven and still keep the scarlet.

The Raven doesn't replace Scarlet, It's a new category in our line up. Raven is a younger, hungrier, more "spirited" member of the RED family with a bit of a chip on his shoulder ready to take on the entire sub-$10k market with images that you will be incredibly proud of.

DSMC². I like the sound of that :)

It's very impressive if you guys got this thing below 3.27lbs (CF/Forged Weapon's weight).

FYI, Veydra lenses are only available in MFT and E-Mount.

Well there's nothing saying that there's "only" a Canon EF version of Raven. HOWEVER, there are a lot of pros regarding using the Canon EF mount in general. You can adapt a slew of lenses onto it. Nikon F, Olympus OM, Medium Format everything, etc..... You can even use some slim PL to EF adapters for certain lenses.

The other thing to remember is since the one Jarred has shown us is Canon EF mount you can electronically control focus and iris on supported lenses internally or externally via WiFi.
