  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm feeling better by a lot of my "theories" now that I've seen that shot.

Very cool.

Anyone want to take a stab at the size of that sensor?

Jarred, little help?

Lots of you got that right already.. it is a real Dragon sensor with real Dragon Pixels. So 20.48mm wide, a bit shy of Academy 35mm and APS-C. All your APS-C / S35 lenses should cover.

Nice to hear that.

Hey Jarred does it shoot r3d + prores =) ?

Staring long and hard between renders and thinking that this is going to be a small box with maximum wifi capacity - which will make Raven a good drone/gimbal cam - but really RAVEN is going to refer to how much functionality they can pack into a primarily wifi enabled camera. RAVEN flies through the air.

canon because...autofocus. so foolcontrol becomes your focus source.

I don't think it will do prores because Redcode is better. And Redder. - but maybe it will be able to transmit H.264 dailies? or editable proxies? over the airwaves.

built-in wireless video transmitter?

LUT control?

what if they could mimic the MIMIC with a foolcontrol version??

all the groovy things the OMOD can do but in the camera. no module.

it would make sense to optimize Raven for the wifi future - just a box, a mag, a small monitor, a small battery, and foolcontrol to command everything. And it would not really cannibalize the other options - it would be supplemental.

would make a great stealth cam, great gimbal cam. using all that revolutionizing 2.0 tech.

back to the render bar. boo.

Hey Meryem I can see all that =)

And...my scarlet is going to ebay.. I think the only thing I really want to know now is if it shoots Redcode but other than that I think I am sold.

The "box" is smaller than the Scarlet Dragon but as you can see from the photos it is the same size as Weapon, so all the DSMC² ( i.e. Weapon ) modules will work.

And Raven is the lightest camera we have ever made....

o boy. You guys got me started...

Might as well keep spilling, man. Only a couple of us are reading this thread.

DSMC², huh... guess we have a term for this generation of modules.

Nice with a few updates.

OK, so EF mount—that's good. The Canon 11-24 f4 rectilinear is starting to look good...

Based on Jarred's sensor size spec, it's a clean 4k cut out of Dragon. The 4.5k would be larger than APS-C. Raven will split the difference between APS-C and MFT, being clearly closer to APS-C.

I actually think it's a sweet size for many projects, but it's a bit of a bummer in the stills department for those of us looking for one single camera.

With the impressive 120fps spec (hard compression?), let's at least hope that lower fps gives us fat files with low compression.

Hey Jarred I tought you was sleeping already. ;)
C'mon
