  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Not to ask for more, but can you release the Adobe plug-in today?

I've got to go back to sleep, I'm confused at how RED exploded a camera body and are planning on selling it that way :) I am really liking the new EVF specs, I can't wait to find out if there will be some kind of Epic/Scarlet tradeup program ( I know they're not even out yet), it just seems like people will want the first thing that comes out, and then want to upgrade as the other systems come on line.
 
I'm soooooo confused as to which "brain" I'd need... and then from there, what's the total cost for a dslr style setup getting me at least 10MP? And will that accept my canon lenses or not? (sorry... I'm a tard...)
 
I just watched Baraka on Blu-Ray. Wow! now I see I can have a 65mm 9K Red.
I guess I can go make Baraka 2 3D!

I think the biggest question (Literally!) is how the hell do you project 28K?
The FX guys just shat themselves though.

Here's an interesting one. Can you window the 6K or 9K Epics to S35 for normal projects and then go all full frame for your Barakaesqe stuff?

Also interesting that the 5K Epic has a 2:1 format sensor.
 
That's such a humungous leap forward!!!!! How come the Sonys and the Panasonics and the JVCs with their huge R&D departments not think of this??!!????

OK. Let's imagine if Sony had this line-up of cameras, how much do you think they would sell them for? (You may answer after you have finished wiping off the drool from your monitor)

What's insane is that I'll be able to upgrade my Scarlet to a full frame 6K 30fps capable beast... granted, no slomo, though I will get my 22fps and 26fps... also a little slo action at 30fps... still... if I need so me slow motion I can RENT an Epic with THE SAME SENSOR for a day or two!!!! :gun:

Well I'm definitely planning on upgrading from Red One to Epic S35 and then FF35 as they come out next year. Who's going to want to shoot Red One once Epic is available? ;)
 
Hey Jarred and Jim it just occurred to me that over on the SPEC thread (Scarletuser?) a few weeks ago where you said "go ahead and guess you won't be close..."
I think I was pretty close: I proposed Scarlet would be completely modular, interchangeable lenses and A BREAKTHROUGH IN SENSOR TECHNOLOGY...hey not bad!?

I'm thinking how do you pull focus those Monstros particularily the 645/617?

and what is the focus going to look like...something like Imax??
