You forgot tar and feathers Antonio... at least.
have a good day.
p.

Tar and feathers... Like old wild west times... Eh eh eh... Let's just get on with shipping those epics to everyone and forget this episode

In stark contrast, I don't feel my Red One is even close to becoming obsolete. With the M-X sensor and SSD side module, the camera feels rejuvinated and it kicks some serious ass. On top of that, sentimentally, the camera really begins to grow on you.

Absolutely agreed. The images are still incredibly good and I hope development for it doesn't stop. Would love a touchscreen and a redmote for it.

I will be keeping my R1s!!!! they shoot to drives and can do 2hour+ interviews! Thats very useful.

I already have an Epic-M and will have 2 more Epic-Xs they will surf together on the unpredictable next wave of what production needs ;)

Prost,
Rich

At least I know mine went to a really good home and were not wasted on my shelf gathering spiders eggs never to be used again.

I don't even know what a lease buy deal is...?. I honestly sold mine like I'd sell a (good) used car. No funny deals, hiding? nothing.
I'm just being open and honest to show others that may have done what I have without thinking.

Honesty is always the best policy.

My lesson learnt is: Actually READ what you sign a year or so earlier, when ever it was.. ?
I think my excitement took over, I was so keen to jump onto the X that I just signed / paid and sent it...

Anyway... I feel like a complete goose.

Sorry & Thanks to Jim & Jarred, actions like yours deserve even more loyalty. (not that I wasn't anyway)

cheers.

A normal company would simply just void all those contracts, cancel their ability to enter Stage 2, and carry on with it. That's how business usually works... specially when there is a financial advantage to the company in doing so.

Nope, worse, they would have never given us these great family opportunities!

Other manufacturers would just announce at a convention that the price would be dropped by $15k (panas.....) and or release and very much PROMOTE "a better one" (Son...) where you have to shell out another $30k , or 50k, or 80k.... and your 1 or 2 year old existing rig now sucks, time and time again, year after after year!

I have shelves of being burned by this shit and it pisses me off. The Red guys are way cooler this way. I have a feeling they too have been bit by this in time past.

The other manufactures would just tell yo to read the fine print and go pound sand.

Prost to Red and their respect to their costumers/ partners,
Rich

Tarring and Feathering is actually a fairly barbaric and disfiguring event. People have suffered severe 3rd degree burns and other serious injuries from it.

I'm sure no one thinks that should actually be done but def might want to think about what you're laughingly suggesting happen to people over an upgrade path issue.

We are three people sharing one Red MX (and a bunch of other fun gear) now , me, my wife and Van Royko. There are often scheduling conflicts - lights are easy to find as rentals, Red MXs often less so in this market, at least not without spending large $$$ - so it will be great to finally have two cams - a lot fewer arguments around here - although I'm amazed at how civil it has remained over all this time - Kudos to my wife and Van.

As Jonathan stated.. we did take a public stance way back when.

Jarred, first, with all due respect, your "Item 3" (as posted) is not a public stance. Actually, if you, or Red think it is, then Jim should seriously consider replacing his general council. More importantly, I'm personally offended if you try to pass it off as such.

If you're referring to something else, you wouldn't happen to have a link to that "stance" would you...? I know there were at least 100+ posts on the lease conversations. Again, ironically, all of ours have been deleted (or at least we can't find them in the search or record logs).

For both Jim and Jarred, what you should really be hearing from the Red community is that your "stance" was not an effective form of communication. Personally, I think you narrowly avoided a potential class action lawsuit today. And by the way, I personally know of 12 attorneys who reviewed those documents - again a ridiculous job on the part of Jim's legal representatives.

Finally, it's ironic that Jim has yet to articulate what he is so "unhappy" about...

Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend.

I wasn't banned? HOORAY! I have had posters remorse.. but I can't help it... I LOVE KETCH ROSSI!

Classy move Jim and Jarred... I guess I am just as amazed that you never visited the FOR SALE section as you are that so many people sold (leased) their Stage 2's.

Live and learn and thank you again for this extremely generous trade in program... I think we will ALL be better served when its OVER and this pecking order business can be put to bed.

Jack... good luck with that stance. Get your attorney and fight CA law. We have taken a friendly approach and solution to the situation which you obviously missed... but I haven't missed this post. I can only hope you are one of the few that decided to do this. See you in court. Everyone else is off the hook but you. Additionally, my counsel is the same I have had for 37 years. We are 130 and 0 in litigation. I'd look forward to you trying to be the 1st to break the record... neither Nike nor Luxottica could do it, but obviously you think you can.. BTW, I call bullshit on your 12 attorneys.

Jim

I can't imagine selling my RED One as it is The camera that convinced me to switch over from film completely. I hope it continues to work until RED outdoes itself again (which I have a feeling won't be too long in the future). I applaud Jim and the RED team on their continued dedication to make incredible tools.

Thanks man! I am just trying to keep pace with Mike Most ! Mike? where have you been? I thought for sure you would chime in by now linking this thread to a 10 Bit DPX pipeline!

Jack... I can't wait for your response. Really. You had big balls to post what you did. What say you now?
