We're all here to help Timothy. Its ok to question things, but also be prepared to hear, " I don't know" which can, and is, a legitimate answer. You will also learn that RED, and many other businesses in this industry, that specs change all the time. Only RED know the answer to your question and anyone else's answer will be pure speculation. In other words, don't just accept the answer that makes sense to you.

In fact, it answers your question perfectly. There's no other explanation needed.

Yet you contradict this statement in your original post.

If you don't want to be treated like a kid, you need to treat those who answer your questions (whether you like the answer or not) with a bit of respect... and maybe take a step back once in a while and think "gee... maybe that makes sense!"

How? You know that mesurements post? Did that help? Because thats what you did to me.

Whatever, the point was "im not wanting it as a feature"

I was treating you with respect at first, but when you just became a prick, i started getting pissed off. Sorry if im not perfect. PS: it makes sense, but not the answer i needed.

Didn't this thread already answer your question about CF cards? Why start another one, dude? I mean seriously... You see why people might come back with short answers? :sifone:

"You can't answer a kid's question. They don't accept any answer! A kid never goes "Oh... thanks, I get it"... they never say that!"

Honestly this video came to mind within the first few posts of this thread... Same wavelength, Bob. Trippy sh*t.

I would if it was a answer that was worth hearing.

Thanks, i would have rathered a "Idk" than "It got axed". "Idk" is a legitimate answer, but "it got axed" is just stupid.
It got axed. Fine. But why? WAS it data rates? Time? Need? Cost? if you think im being a typical "kid" thats fine, im not on this earth to please you. (Not you specifically, whoever is reading)

Simple question, i know its a old design, but what happened to CF for scarlet? Please dont just say data rates

Good question - actually the first thought that came to mind was data rates, but you reckon they'd be fast enough?
I would have thought that they wanted to keep things simple in that you've now got 1 media and that's it - adding an extra slot for CF cards or a separate module would maybe have been an added complication and cost. Presumably the SSDs that RED went with do have much more ptoential than CF cards for storage size and data rates, also maybe more solidly built, so I'm pretty happy they went this route. On the other hand it might have been a nice option due to the cheap cost and ubiquity of CF cards.
Have a nice day Tim, thanks for the many useful contributions you've made to the forum.

haha. Well I didnt admit that I was a troll, just simply that I'm trying to understand your method of communication.

Moreover, I'm sorry, I find it hard to take anyone seriously who's profile picture is of (presumably) them pointing a screen to camera. I'm not sure kids and guns are a 'mature' message in any forum.

It was a frame grab from a film. Somthing wrong with that?

You gave a short answer on that thread too, but anyway. No it doesnt because i didnt understand i couldnt. (Wow ok that made little sense) Now i do, i was just wondering why it happened. Geez im sorry, i though i could ask questions here.

That, child, is called trolling. You are officially an expert. A round of applause, little guy. Is that what you want?

No, i was showing you what happned to me. Unhelpful to you, and thats what it was like to me. Technically correct tho.
