  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What EVF res. numbers are shipping now?

Hang on a sec - how come #'s 729 & 820 have been delivered and yet #692 hasn't even been sent yet? Or have Red given up on providing tracking numbers and my order is actually stuck in customs waiting for me to do something about it???
 
Apparently Red doesn't send you the tracking numbers - FedEx does - and in my case, the email containing the number has been always intercepted by the junk mail filter. So look in you junk mail folder!

Sorry to hear your evf is delayed.

I got my email saying the EVF was ready to ship on June 10th. I asked Brian to send it immediately (money was in my account). It shipped on the 11th arrived in Dublin, June 13th.
 
My "ready-to-ship" arrived on June 5th. I asked Brian to ship it immediately too, and had ensured it was all paid up a week before.

I'm guessing the shipping time to England is the same as to Ireland, so if it went out the same day as yours I should have had it by now too.

'Tis a mystery - I guess I'll have to wait till Monday to find out why.
 
The RED finally feels complete - a real camera. It's big, like a drain pipe, but on the ET mount it was easy to adjust - quite comfortable handheld - I found it more positive then the LCD in terms of focus - didn't do any measurements to check absolutes. It's great.

Turns out mine hasn't been sent, no idea why.

Waiting for a reply from someone at Red to explain what the problem is. Sadly I found out from FedEx that it hasn't been sent, rather than someone from Red contacting me and letting me know there was a problem.

I also went through the ticketing system (just to make sure).

I had it all sorted and paid for a week before I received Brian's "nearly ready to ship" e-mail, so it's frustrating to see that people further down the line from me have received their EVFs whilst not only has mine not shipped, but no-one bothered to contact me to explain why.

I'm with you there Stephen. I'm No 500 and I haven't received mine yet. I've e-mailed Brian and Dan, whom I've been dealing with up until now, I did get a reply : that I would get the FedEx number as soon as it's on it's way, but not when.

I must say, I thought I was all paid up, but I didn't have enough on my account to cover the EVF, so that took a little while to get sorted out. But my money transfer was sent, and has been received for a couple weeks now, and I'm still waiting. My camera has been resting for a couple weeks, but I have three shoots coming up, back-to-back, starting on the 19th. I was sure my EVF would have arrived, and now I'm really embarassed. One DP even mentioned renting his camera somewhere else so he could have an EVF. It's really tough to have to wait like this with no date and hear that people in the 700 and 800s have already received theirs.

Way back when, Jim once wrote, after I explained I only wanted an EVF, not an LCD, that I would get my EVF along with my camera. Of course he hadn't realized I was No 500, but now I feel a little left in the dark, and like I've been told to step back to the end of the line.

I've wanted the EVF from day one. I did end up buying the LCD when I realized the EVF wouldn't be there for a while. And that's why part of the amount was missing, because I had an LCD sent to me on the credit I had from my EVF payment.

Considering I had originally paid for it, and that there was only part of the amount missing, I think that after having confirmed I still wanted my EVF, it should have been put aside and ready to ship the day my payment arrived.

Oh well, please make it quick.
