double the price....head looks interesting though...
is it wireless?

Looking good Curt. Hope you get heaps of business at NAB and are able to iron out the start up wrinkles. Breathe. Be a great company for a long time.

I think its tough because so many of us are in start up mode and blowing money on rentals here and there doesn't figure as nicely into our start up plans. I suspect those of us in this boat will look back at this chunk of years ("Wasn't it wild waiting for the RED, the Birger, the Carrion, the Viewfactor, the what else is still coming out and camping out on that website for little update scraps, renders and pix? Yeah, those were the days") and realize how great a time it was.

Curt,

I see a noticeable amount of lagging in your new video. Is this normal or just because of this battery setup?

As an early "investor" -- low on the list, of course I hoped things would go smoother for Curt & Company. I agree with Bris-Vegas, the moaning and threatening is just plain childish and mean-spirited. This forum public ventilating of frustration, at best lacks grace. And wow, how can we pass moral judgment on VF for going to NAB on a non-refundable booth paid for in advance?

All the best to Curt and company, from the hopeful patient "waiters" with Buddah smiles who are hanging in there with you without recrimmination.

Post of the day, very well said.

Only Curt knows for sure, but I'm pretty certain it's the low current that the PP3 battery can supply. Their problems with powering off the non-guaranteed unregulated RED One Aux power is to do with higher current draw being necessary for snappy performance. I believe Curt has revised the firmware so that it can work with lower currents but the performance is sluggish - hence the move to D-tap power supply for the motors.

This is how I understand it as well..

Not in Vegas myself, but I have seen a photo (by Matt Duclos) of a sweet 3D rig using 2xR1's each with a Angenieux zoom driven by VF motors connected to a single reciever, in turn connected to a single FF.

Just got back from NAB last night...

VF is set up right next to Element Technica and they had all the tools out to play with..

I had my first chance to play with the Inclino/Impero FIZ unit and I was very impressed. For my application I will need to control Iris and Focus so I wanted to test out the ability to switch between Focus and Iris. The way the unit was setup when you switch from Focus to Iris and then back to Focus the unit jumps to wherever you left the ring when setting Iris. Maintaining the marks you have put on the ring for focus. Curt explained that there is another mode where you can keep it from jumping and there is an indicator light that will flash until you return the ring to where it was left before switching to iris. He also mentioned that he will be working on a pro model that will provide individual controls for focus/iris/zoom.

I asked about availability as I know people that have paid in full many many months ago and still have no product... He claimed that he will be filling all existing order over the next month and a half so orders placed now would be filled after that... He also mentioned that prices will be going up shortly after NAB. I guess the additional Bluetooth parts have added to his costs.

ET had a new Parallel 3D rig with a pair of wide Rouge lenses... The Inclino/Impero are being used for a variety of uses on the 3D rig.. First of all the Focus Iris and Zoom are tied together on both cameras with one controller. They only had one motor on each camera for focus, but it was explained to me that one controller will control FIZ synchronously on both cameras... The second use of the Inclino/Impero is to control the intraocular and convergence distances. Essentially one Red is on a fixed dovetail and the other is on a dovetail that can be moved left to right as well as angled in or out.

ET had a new V-Lock / Speedy Clamp setup for Aja products.

ET had a Panavised Red... I guess PV Woodland Hills and Hollywood are finally going to start renting out Reds!!

That's the quick sum up of what I saw from those guys yesterday!

Great news Mick. Thanks for the info. Any other info about the Panavised REDs, that sounds tasty.

It's another one month and a half ! I will make my final decision whether to cancel it or not after i heard any official word from Curt.

Dont cancel out of spite Rivai. I have one of the non antenna systems w/ 3 motors
this system rocks, Curt, John and Caroline are busting ass to get these units out and unless you need a system tommorrow you will be happy with the VF system.
