  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

VFS Inclino, Imperio, Origo News ??

Curt are you back from Asia ??
If i see it right it´s almost 2 weeks since the last update, any news ?
Don´t want to push, just curious if you´ve solved the problems with your supplier and we get an updated schedule.

Curt is back. I saw him at Cinegear. I didn't see any finished stuff besides the start/stop unit. No Mirus, or working inclino and impero.
 
Guys, I've been catching up on emails and voicemails for the last couple days...most of them related to expected shipping dates. I am working as fast as possible to get this stuff shipping but its tough when I am spending more time on email then engineering :)

I will update the schedule today and give some revised shipping dates.
 
Hi Curt

I'm sure it's too late to change now, but does the Impero Standard have an attachment for a lanyard to wear it round the neck? I just saw another wireless unit and it reminded me to ask.

Yeah, we are going to include a little doodad that attaches to the 1/4-20 mount on the back of Impero for a lanyard.
 
the view factor guy i talked to at cine gear said not before august for inclino :(
 
Unfortunately He's right. Our die caster made some big mistakes on the first main body parts we received and I had to go to their factory to get them ironed out. Everything is ready to go with the exception of this part. They are making the tool over again and we are supposed to get final samples next week. After that it takes them 20 days to make the first production run of 250 parts then it takes our CM about a week to assemble and ship. We are doing everything we can to get them to us faster including paying for air shipping vs going from Asia by boat.

Our other die caster in Taiwan is giving us trouble with origo... the parts are perfect and beautiful but they are taking their sweet time getting them to us. We are supposed to have production volumes by the beginning of July.

Heres the die cast part that I got while I was there, you can't see it but the parts don't fit so good, hence the retooling. All of this could have been avoided if people could read my engineering drawings and interpret tolerances correctly... ugg.

Curt, I really hope you had done business with this vendor before. Otherwise, I have a feeling your mid August delivery will slip. It is a mentality problem. That is why we are in service for over 10 years now doing work for large US companies that seemed easily done elsewhere - qc, qc, qc. Hope i am wrong as I still look forward to receive the items I ordered.
 
Yeah, we've done business with them before but the last time we did business it was for another project with substantially higher volumes. This is not typical of these guys, they usually do very high quality work. The parts could have worked but the tolerances were not within what we specified. I understand how to deal with them and believe me QC is very important to us and thats why I went over there to resolve the problems rather than spending two weeks dealing with it over email.
 
Oh man this is seriously bad news...

The die casting guys for Origo said they are shipping the housings this week. Final Inclino housings are supposed to be here by Friday (I'll post pictures when they arrive). We just got a shipment of 1/2 mile of cables for Origo last week....

So if the Inclino housings are supposed to arrive next week, then what else do you need to start building the entire FF package? Or is that the proof and if you approve it they will cast all the ones you've ordered?

We are waiting on just the enclosures... after we approve them then it takes about 2 weeks for them to produce the production Inclino parts (over 250 units now). Those parts then go to our CM here in the US and final assembly takes about a week. We are sticking to the mid-august ship date because I've been burned by our suppliers estimates before.
