  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

VF | Brook's FMJ for Epic-X... free upgrade [RED & Arri version]

The Shuttles are back from anodizing and are being laser etched. They should be up in the store today or tomorrow.

I'm expecting to make the battery plate announcements this weekend or a few days afterwards!

Curt and company have been cranking out parts like nobody's business... all current parts [including the new Epic-X FMJ] are in stock and can ship same day.

Hey Brook,

Got my top plate on Friday! Great quality.

I wanted to check in on the V-lock battery plate you mentioned. Can you provide an update? Everyone is looking for one. I'm interested in a simple, lightweight plate that can clip onto a shuttle or one I can connect to flat plate on a hand held rig. It would be great to offer different lengths on the 1B LEMO so it could either be close to the EPIC body, or further back on a studio or HH rig. Hate all of those cable loops ;(

Can you at least list what you plan to build and when you think you could ship what I've described above?

I have a shoot in a couple of weeks that I could really use them on :)

Thanks,

M

Shuttle is live in the store.

Details on the battery plate are soooo close, don't worry. :)

Brook,

Glad to see the shuttle has launched!

Hey on the batt plate, it sounds like the the V-LOCK or AB plate would have the female half of the shuttle system so it could slide into the back of any module, or be mounted to a shuttle. Correct?

If so, that will be awesome!!

Can you also offer a simple flat back plate (non shuttle) that would allow us to screw it into the back of another flat battery mounting plate? That would be great for some hand held rigs, or any other situation where the Shuttle may not be the best mounting option.

Thanks,

Mark

if you are making a female version of the shuttle for your battery plate it would awesome if you sold them on their own to mount an old battey plate or misc accs... sort of like the epic backpack but with only a couple holes and not $1200..

Just got my FMJ plate, looks great, build is excellent. Thanks Brook & Viewfactor.

Yes, a big thanks to Brook, Curt and VF. They replaced all three of my Epic FMJ top plates. Truly stand up guys and a stand up company. I look forward to being their customer for many more years. And yes, the build quality is top notch.

Heheh, it seems like I'm being a tease here... I really don't mean to be! I just don't want to post anything until it all looks presentable. :)

We decided to make a few last-minute tweaks based on feedback from the dozen or so prototype units that are out in the field. I'm the last guy in the world who wants to tease... but if I'm going to do it, I may as well go all the way. The details of what the plate can do will make your day, but here's the obvious glimpse of one mounting mode...

More in the next few days. We're really proud of this thing.

Here's one of the four plates... we made a few last-minute tweaks to the design. This is just one of the *many* ways that the plates can be mounted to the camera... but stay tuned. I'll make a thread as soon as all the beans are ready to be spilled. :)

SOLD!!!!!!

You know what I like about your parts mate.. SIMPLE!
..and the longest I've waited for things online from you is about 5 days.

When are these a ready? and when are they going to be able to be purchased.. and will you have healthy stocks straight away?

Good work Brook.

PS.. only problem is I like having my REDMOTE there.. but since RED cant get any motes made for us.. I suppose your RED BATTERY plate will be a good thing to protect the pins till then.

cool..
