Here's another trinket that's coming down the pipe. Forgive the cell phone pictures... just have to get it coated and they'll be ready next week!

The Epic Shuttle gives you a handy place to mount your REDmote when it's not on the back of the camera. You can screw it into a sidearm, the Stealth plate... you name it. It also has a 1/4-20 tapped hole so you can mount it on a RED Arm or equivalent. After all, with battery plates going on the back... you'll have to put the REDmote somewhere.

Want these ASAP.

How does the top of the Epic-X differ from Epic-M ? Are there holes at the rear of the top of an Epic-X to screw an old Red One Battery Quickplate to ? Or to do that do you still need a FMJ Top Plate ?

Other than adding a few 1/4-20s and rearranging some spacing, the only important difference is that the X top plate works with the Epic-X body design. Both the Epic-M and Epic-X FMJ-Top plate work with RED's R1 Quickplate.

Hey guys,

As you all know, RED updated the design of the top of the Epic camera body with the introduction of the Epic-X. The new design is a very cool [and welcomed] improvement which adds more mounting points to the top of the camera. All Epic-M owners will receive this new updated top when they send their bodies in for the new lightweight heat sink.

This of course means that all original FMJ-Top plates designed for the Epic-M will not fit the Epic-X.

Over the past few years RED has been immensely generous in offering unbelievable upgrade programs to their existing customers. The Epic body and heat sink upgrade is no different - they are once again giving their hottest new upgrades to their customers for free. We decided to take a page out of RED's own book.

I haven't worked out a price yet but it'll be reasonable, fear not. High volume helps.

They'll be super handy with the battery plates... I may offer them as a part of a kit. We'll see how the pricing works out in the next few days.

Plates are out to finishing and anodizing today. Expect them back in the next day or two at most. Waiting on captured screws from supplier. If all goes to plan expect shipping of the first batch by Monday.

Very generous... I need to say that in more then a dozen occasions, since we got your FMJ tops, our A%$#@ were saved by been able to mounting and or accessorizing the EPIC in ways never possible without it...

An absolute must have accessory IMPO...


We'll probably bring them over to Cali soon for the upgrade, and this time have them engraved as well...

The shuttle sounds great - mounted to a pan handle it will be ideal for those of us who work in single-operator, EFP. Any pan-handle mounting options in the works?
