Hi Vincent,

We will be making some new announcements shortly, including the date for a second group buy if Bob sees this as something that would be appropriate. I'm going to check in with him about this and follow up here.

Hey TROST folks.....

Its been a minute and you haven't provided a way to mount Mitchell gear as promised....so, it just sits in the closet...waiting.

Any news at all, or are you guys pretty much out of business?

I've has superb service from Gabe at Trost--have you not tried their website and contacting them direct? Asking if they are going out of business seems rather strange or maybe rude? Unless you have had problems trying to contact them directly.....this post is is just a bit on the wild side Brandon. I know when i email Gabe, i get a reply within the same day. Hope you get what you need.

What I get is that there is no contact # on their website and all items are ( and have been for a very LONG time) sold out in their store.
What I also get is that they have promised a way for those of us with heavy rigs to actually mount them with stability onto the slider..and haven't.
If that seems rude to you, well think how I feel with this expensive dual axis slider sitting around and collecting dust.
It would be very cool to know if those of you that have had conversations with Gabe, as I have in the past (and before purchase) have been offered real solid TROST made solutions rather than lip service, then I would like very much to hear about it.
SO far, lots of promises and no deliverables from the vendor who made them ages ago....... and THAT to me seems pretty darn rude.

Brandon, I hear where you're coming from. I pushed Trost gear hard to others hoping to see a Mitchell adapter within 2-3 months max of the initial batch but it seems things have gone rather quiet. I do know there's an address listed on the site and likely registry info available online or from your invoice on the original purchase. I dont think we have a Viewfactor situation brewing but could use an update on where things are at.

In meantime, to those lucky owners that are mounting lighter gear, I've been a big fan of dual camera sliding for prompter work and dual lens setups that don't muck up the set with multiple sticks or rigging. Just cozy up with a fellow Op or use a pair of decent heads and handle both for simple sit-downs.

I sure hope not, Jason...but, that is my point exactly.

Trost Motion is a very serious and respectable company, a little one, like a family owned company, but one that is surely to NOT let down any one, I have communicated many times with Gabe outside this forum, and always found respect, professionalism and timely responses.

Rest assure, that what ever they are working on, is coming, and that they listen to customers, and that I myself look forward to that Mitchell option os to use Heavy Duty Pro Fluid Heads when needed, yet still pretty much also look forward a 100mm Bawl Head option too as to be allowed to also use a smaller lighter Fluid Head when it fits the job at hand better.

They are working hard on the next design!

I trost this guy :-)

amazing slider, love mine with the gitzo mini 3 axis head you suggested Bob.

The group buy and the promises of a Mitchell and 100mm bowl mount was made by TROST 9 months ago, with NOTHING to show for it.

It really doesn't matter how lovely and kind a company is if they don't deliver on their promises in a timely way.

They HAVE and continue to let me down, Ketch.

I furnished Trost with a number of various Mitchell based hardware for them to use as brain storming templates. They were close to releasing a solution that they thought would fit our needs - I noted some issues and passed back some input along with a number of photos for further consideration. Last I heard, they were reworking the design - I'll try getting a hold of Gabe to see how much longer they need to complete...

Brandon,

you know I respect you and also appreciate your continuos support, and it is because of this that I say that at times our expectation of a new small company are not fair to the reality of the market and and engineering of things...

At this time all that I can say and add is that while I have not made it public I also have been and continue to be in Engineering nightmares scenarios because I am as I always have, looking for perfection, and I believe firmly that in this case Trost Motion, are also in similar situation were instead of releasing an easy upgrade piece, that would kinda of work, have decided to spend their time and money on the engineering part of things as to be absolutely sure to be able to offer their best option to the end user... us, and for this I would most definitely give them the benefit of doubt and see what they are about to come out with, and if it is anything in quality similar to heir first Silder, well then I know we'll all be absolutely very very happy.

That would be very appreciated, Brian!
Thank you.

Just spoke with Gabe - timing is everything!

All is looking really good. They have a final prototype and have beta-tested in process designs with DP's to help ensure they have a sweet solution.

Look for a post by Gabe (including some pictures) by the close of business today.

Brian!
This is the very reason why I enjoy the camaraderie we have here on REDUser!
Thank you for doing what I couldn't and pushing things forward.
BRAVO!

Hi all, sorry for missing the last couple posts on here - that's my fault. If anyone ever wants to get in touch, for any reason, please don't hesitate to PM me or email me at gchei [at] trostmotion.com. I usually can get back to you within a few hours.

The reason we've been quiet for the last few months is because we've taken everyone's feedback about the slider and redesigned it. It has really been shaped by the folks here.

The new system, which we are calling Trost M-series, is Mitchell and 100mm native and features an extremely low-profile, compact cantilevered design. It is in production right now and our aim is to have it available for you late fall 2014. We have increased our production capacity, so we should have good availability.

For current Trost owners who were waiting on Mitchell and 100mm adapters, the M-series will be available via an easy and cost-effective upgrade. Just email me and we'll make it work for you.

Thanks again to everyone here for your continued support. We are going to bring you the best slider that you've ever used.
