  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looking for "VERY SAD" Songs for a Sound Track, Help me find some to...

If any one here knows of any songs similar to the type of Lament that is present in the beautiful CGI Video that Anouk de Groot sings in the White Swan, (attached below),
I'll be extremely thankful for any links, I really want to give as many hints as possible.

This song will open the first sequence scene when the 11 year old boy and 7 year old sister are been beat up to blood by the Boy's drunken stepfather,
and will repeat it self thru out the film in various scenes were again the boy is badly bit up by the drunken stepfather, as one of the most important sound track
in the Movie "KETCH ROSSi's PERSEVERANCE" which will start production next Year, it is imperative that I get as much Music pieces as possible to be able to
make my point across, I'm not a Music guy, I can't sing to save my life, so any help is again truly appreciated.

Hey Ketch, I always use audionetwork.com to find my music. Very good source! I know I have found many many songs before that would suite what your looking for great, i'll see if I can dig up the great composers i've come across.

Hi Ketch, I'm a big PJ Harvey fan, so when I read your post I thought of this song from White Chalk called Dear Darkness.


In second place there's this beautiful song, The Darker Days of Me and Him from Uh Huh Her.


Pretty dark, but I like her slightly unhinged style, she doesn't hide behind veneer, it's raw.



Anyway, on another note, Happy Holidays and a wonderful 2012 to you Ketch. :)

Its the list I can do, besides Reduser its literally in the Movie, so how could I not bring the news here first... ;)
 
All nice songs, but I really need something closer to the first one I linked, with a strong Female vocal, as a melody and a Lament, to express the:


Boy and the little sister's Pain, Misery, Loneliness, Powerless situation in which they are in time and again, till the Boy finally leaves in PERSEVERANCE of his Journey,
then we hear it again and again as the life comes down on him with unexpected tragedies.


Again, much appreciated all that are participating to this, especially in this times of Holidays, which are the ones were every one s is most busy with family... ;)
 
jenni has a voice that is really close to what you posted. and she has lots to choose from. also the music, though not quite orchestral, matches pretty close and has a sad solemn feel to it.
 
If just an instrumental will do, Ashokan Farewell is the most hauntingly beautiful, yet sad, music I can think of. It has already been used of course, in Ken Burn's Civil War.

EDIT: never mind, after watching the piece you posted that's probably not even close to what you are looking for.
