  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have and am becoming ever busier with my projects, in turn leaving me with less and less time to spend on this Forum...

..But mostly my absence will be to the fact that I have tired lately as I have been attacked by the same small number of users, which in turn let other new members to believe it's okay to attack and disrespect directly or indirectly with funny jokes, a Respected, Active and always ready to help, Senior Member of this community, and it is NOT OKAY!! Moderators can only do so much, and I really have no desire to always go and click the Report button to delete posts, becoming a little complainer, nor do I have the desire to go on and make a full of myself engaging in defensive arguments with such individuals.

All that I ever done since joining this wonderful community has been nothing else but to give a hand any time I could in any way I could, and even so this has turned out not always as a good thing for me, were I have been also betrayed by one of the very same person I have given all that I could and open as many doors as I could in this Industry for him, I have not stopped helping others I only forget they ever existed, and put this few isolated individuals on my Shit list!!

I have only shared my questions, plans, dreams, small or big, and what ever progress here as I tough I would find the kind of help and support as I always had in the years past since the beginning were we each knew each other personally, and care for nothing else but to be close to one an other and help one an other in any way we could. I shared BIG Dreams and plans, out of pure excitement for what they would offer to this community, also meant to inspire and push others to always follow their dreams, and never give up, no matter what, instead I have been made the Joke of the day about it, and this is not cool at all. I never disrespect people I know, even less I would ever disrespect some one I don't know, and don't know what they are really capable of, and especially I will never do so on a public forum, opening the door to others to follow my bad example.

My intentions have been and always will be 100% Good form the Hearth, and it hurts me to read some of this comments, and they didn't stop there, but extended to other threads that had nothing to do with it, this makes me fill really bad, and it is not good for my already critical health to take things so personally but I do, and for this I will stop posting anything at all, till it is done with it and you might read or see it some were also first any way, unfortunately this will take away the advantage to any member of this community to be part of it before it gets down, and it is sad, but this is what it is, as the result of what has been happening, but I will no doubt continue to offer work when I have it, and always favor this community before giving work outside of it, even so my new approach to things will make it a bit more difficult, since I will no longer share what I am about to do or doing., and for this I am sorry.


I will continue to share Videos and Frame grabs and gear ventures, as well as I'll always be more then happy to answer any questions any one might have which they can do so on my Epic M Owner's personal Thread here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?58043-KETCH-ROSSi which will now be the only Thread I will be posting on and following, to also answer in a timely manner all questions.


I LOVE THIS COMMUNITY!!

I will always have a presence here, just that it is time to stay away form it all for a while and let what I am doing, talk for it self first once it is done, and leave the naysayers and negative disrespectful users to themselves...

I do have a thick skin, but I am a One Man Band trying to put together things that almost belong to Fiction, yet they are to be some of those fewer great things to remember, on top of it they are not for my advantage, or at list only in a small part, mostly are for you and every one, but this community stand in favor, and I was ready to step back before I ended up filling otherwise, I at times really do share too much here, as I consider it my Home, my family, I was not prepared to get the insulting jokes about it, and this have not stopped, and some continue to take back form those few threads I started and hunt me with it, and this spikes new users to follow their bad example, this does not fill good at all, I am not a child, I am a Man nearing 50, and I demand respect in the same way that I give it.

Bing so f^%#ing medicated all the time does not help either... ;) It makes all my efforts infinite times harder, yet I continue on, because I believe, and wanted to share my conquests and my losses hoping to gain support and yet inspire, that is why it hurts the most when I get made a joke of it.

But I have now, as all of you, or almost all, started a new year, and back form a 4 hours walk around the city of Rome under the rain, it helped a TONE!!


I love this community, and know hundreds of you in person, reading the replies posted in this thread, as well as the PM's and emails received, is truly appreciated and I don't consider it a small thing to me, thank you!!

Ketch, not aware of the attacks you are referring to, but stick around please. You are that rare bottle of Italian wine, that gets better with age and brings life and merry to the party. As well as tiarimisu.

i have taken long healthy absences from the forum and it us great. It puts things in a fresh perspective. You have been a vocal member of this forum but I agree that it is wise to take a break at times.

Just keep doing what is important to you. That is all that is important.

Im not sure who or what the attacks are but you can be sure that when you are passionate and have an opinion you will at some point have to defend it.

Thanks for all the good stuff and the gear sales and purchases over the years.

I've never met you and don't know you but I've always enjoyed hearing your thoughts.

Like those that view the Red Company, there will be haters and people that are negative. There will be those that are militant and can't think differently from how they see the world. We might be that way too, but as long as we rise above being negative and close minded, and listen, we'll be above such pretension. I've never seen your views attack others which is why I enjoy reading your thoughts (even if I agree or not).

There are regulars on this site and that's what makes it enjoyable (among learning and hearing stories).

Sad to hear this Ketch, but I can understand where you're coming from. This being a public forum sometimes requires having a thick skin. Keep dreaming big and creating beautiful images.
 
Ketch, I'm sorry for all the rotten apples on this forum. This was a place were colleagues could come and discuss questions, thoughts and concerns relative to the red camera. A place for knowledge and understanding in the art of cinematography. Now a place of snide remarks and childhood profanity. Let this be a wakeup call to Red and all Redusers...Sorry Ketch. Stay golden ponyboy!
 
Sorry to hear it, but I'm glad you are doing what you need to, in order to heal from what sounds like a series of unpleasant circumstances. Stay brave, stay bold and stay on course, that is your best victory over adversity. I look forward to seeing more of your work!
 
Ketch, you are and always will be part of the Revolution and a True leader in this community. Those that have made hurtful comments are probably due to some form of jealousy. As a respected colleague to many of us, we hope you will return fast. Many of us find your contributions to this community very valuable and losing you to such unfortunate circumstances is upsetting. As my friend and colleague I look forward to following you in your personal threads wherever you are. As for the lame haters.......Fuck em! Ciao brother

Dear Ketch, I agree, and it's sad. New folks don't appreciate what the forum was before. Though I came somewhat late to the party, it would be nice to have a section for those of us actively working in the field, progressing in their field of study at a professional level, or a combination of both. Maybe there could be a separate section for people with credits, a resume, and some standing in the field where people can vouch for their professionalism. I dunno... I am posting less as well, but even Phil Holland was attacked the other day by someone insinuating he was this or that... Sad really but the forum is amazing ... Maybe stricter rules of conduct? I dunno the answer but you're a good dude, and it will be sad not to get updates from you.
