The 8K vista Vision Dragon sensor at a 5 micron pitch.
Yes 8k VV is the DXL and "Bayhem" is the 8k Helium.

Or anyone else who cares to comment (maybe i've missed a post on threads that already covers this)
I own an epic-mx, Will I be able to put the Helium sensor in this?
What does the "rough" timeline look like for that? and associated costs.
Thanks

That's pretty interesting that there might be an Epic H in the future. I wonder what lenses are available that cover S35 that would have enough resolution for 8K.
I got directed here from Brendan on Youtube. My problem is being a new small production company. I went for Scarlet-W, really like what your are doing. Now Im stuck with paying on a loan, no camera, accoseryes for DSCM2, all of it almost. And renting a RED EPIC DRAGON everyday, when paying on morage. Knew it was risk, but they said march - know its JULY. The thing is that I want my projects to have the same profile carmera. There is no information about when perhaps. Is it before Christmas? After Christmas? In September? There must be a way to sort out... When? I am bleeding money here... Nice for the fellow renting out Red epic dragon... Love your work and love the cameras!
trailer for my MMA film. Shot on rented RED and GH4. Had to use the last becuase I dont have my Scarlet W.

The fall date is still good.. I may of not done a very good job of emphasizing how much the new sensor lines will help with that. It's our biggest bottleneck right now.
Dumb question, but is "VV" meant to be pronounced like "W" or "V V"... "extra-big W" "Double-V"?
While the symbolism and similarity between W and VV is real I'm fairly sure you want to go with "Vee Vee" or "Doublet Vee" as this sensor format size is indeed a nod to the VistaVision format.
From Jarred's posts, sounds like new Scarlet-Ws ordered today are still on track for fall delivery, so if that's the case we can hope the pre-orders will be summer, or fall delivery. I guess fall goes till Dec 20, so we can hope we get em before then. Everybody's in the same boat though if that makes you feel any better![]()

That's funny. People have been using the double V as a W for Weapon.
As in Scarlet-VV or Epic-VV.
...although, maybe the new Epic would have VV?
Naaaaaaah.

Yeah, I think it would help to get clarity on that. Is fall in this case considered Sept 20 - Dec 20?
Sorry for the delay on the update, I found myself stuck in Detroit.
Anyways.. For the most part it is the same old story.. ship and wait ship and wait ship and wait.
Right now we are exhausting our Dragon sensor supply almost immediately as soon as they come out of the oven every few weeks and it is going to continue that way for the near future.
If you like what we are doing.... waiting is just going to be part of the game. No cutting corners.
If you can't wait any longer.. it's ok. If you need to bail, I promise we will still love you. Or at least like you a lot![]()
On the bright side.. We did just have a small batch of great 8K VV sensors come in. There will be a few very happy customers next week.
8K VV is still the slowest line of them all to be in... but it is definitely worth the wait.
As many of you might have noticed our new Helium 3.65 micron pixel is complete and ahead of schedule... WAY ahead of schedule.
Helium's first sensor is the 8K s35 build on a completely new sensor line and will be available to Weapon customers in the coming months. (Or the coming weeks for those that know where to look)
Helium will take pressure off our Dragon sensor lines and allow those lines to completely focus on Raven and Scarlet-W sensors.
O... and Epic-W will be Helium.
