  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Mother of all Backorder Updates

Leica 90mm f2 Apo Summicron ASPH 6 bit updated, this lenses have been on backorder for so long, and now more then ever before as it is taking new orders about a one year wait for delivery.

Anybody ever complained about waiting for RED deliveries? Shame on you!

so, are you gonna wait for the release of Quad Battery Charger and release them at the same time? 2nd week of May?

i'm pretty sure you can't charge the XL 90wh battery in a travel charger... so my guess is yes hehe:-)

Thanks RED and Jarred! Awesome update so stoked! Any time frame for media and redvolts? still waiting on those confirmation emails, can't wait to get my scarlet next week!

what's the price range for this beast?

Priceless :)

It is the most obnoxious thing you will ever bolt to the top of an Epic.. and once it is on and you use it you will never be able to take it off.

Jarred can you put me down for one... Since I know they will tip the scales at $4Kplus one is all I can get with the upgrades, X, etc... Alright night sir, finally getting sleepy.

We have a ton of them ready for action... just not in the store yet.

Super Excited for the Redvolt XL Jarred :). Good to hear there is some progress on that front. Any chance you could fill us in on the form factor? Will they fit in our side handles? (can't seem to find much info on this from searching)

man people are just eating up those side handles

Oh man, one day I don't get to check early or late, and here comes the big one. Awesome guys! Thanks a lot for pushing these out to us. Can't wait to get my new toy!

I think you have forgotten to put a "SMILY" at the end of your comment...

In case you didn't, FYI we are also been waiting for a Year+ for the Leica Summilux Cine Primes...

It was not a statement against Leica, but since we are on Reduser, was more a shown of "RED" not been the only company with a long waiting time frame... ;)

Yeah, I can't wait for this... With my eye site getting worst, and mostly just the simple LOVE for looking at images on BIG SCREENS, that will forever replace the 5" TS... ;)

But also that this way I don't have to use the Small HD thing for a more accurate Focus, love the resolution on the 9" TS!!

Of course there was a virtual smily, Ketch !

For the good things in life you have to develop some patience…

Most of what you can get immediately will disappoint you soon ;-)

Had the previous version, sold it when I got the new one, together with few others like the "Leica 90mm f2 Apo Summicron ASPH 6 bit updated, this lenses have been on backorder for so long, and now more then ever before as it is taking new orders about a one year wait for delivery.
Ti mount is not as much as for the need for the size and or weight, it is for the long lasting of the mount itself, as well as the fact that for some one like me ben al over the place a Ti mount does not change under extreme conditions, as aluminum mounts do.

The beauty that is the new Noctilux .95... ;)

Very nice Ketch!

Let you know that with a tiny DoF at F/0.95 you as a great photographer could make amazing 5K still shots

or if you are maybe well skilled cinematographer as a Jeff Cronenweth, ASC

than you could get the best moving images in a low light out of that amazing and the fastest wide open FF35mm lens on Epic/Scarlet.

Yes indeed good things come to those whom wait, and since we have been waiting we are getting and will get great things... ;)

Thanks Sanjin,
SSDOF is an art on its own, focusing motion capture at .95 WO on the Noctilux will prove a hand full for sure, but I do love challenges, and have already some work lined up for Epic+Leica M + Noctilux .95 that will show how really out of this world are images taken at such Apertures, and what depth budget they create, and detachment form the FG and BG, that is mesmerizing to see... ;)

Fanstastic news, Jarred ! You guys rock !

Man, I never thought this day would come - it seems so unreal...

Love the title, BTW. :-)
