  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thank You.

We thank you Jarred and Jim and all at RED...Don't STOP PLEASE

I can't thank the red team enough, ..

but, .. as awesome as the Red team is the one thing that has become VERY clear to me in the short
time I have been privileged to be a Red owner is the FAMILY !
Don't just look at the awesome cameras Red builds, .. look at the family they have built!

There are some truly awesome people in this family and it's an honor to be part of it all.

As many have said and it's VERY, VERY true for me, Red cinema has literally changed my life!

Now Fed-Ex just dropped off my new Epic-W, ... .. so I gotta go !!!!

Thank you Jarred and Red team !!

Curtis

Jarred, as someone who put down a deposit for my first R-1 in April 2007 and a second one in June of the same year, I have spent more time waiting for a particular version of all the RED cameras (other than Scarlet) than I have owning those various models. '-)

But in truth the waiting wasn't so bad because I often put down a deposit with no idea where or when I would come up with the funds when allocated.

Things have gradually gotten better and I'm in more of a get-it-now mode.

That said and also being a WEAPON Vv payer, I can't help but put myself in your shoes for a moment and imagine the juggling act you perform as you try to satisfy all who clamor for RED tech.

Jim has said that you are a natural younger version of himself.

And while Jim was right for the time he was running the show, he was smart enough to know it is now best for RED that you are running the show.

Admittedly, I've done some occasional sniping at you guys for the long wait for the Vv sensor... mainly just to fulfill the need to vent a little, while not expecting my comments to speed things up.

But just so you know, once the venting is done, I'm good again. '-)

Thanks for not taking my comments too seriously and over-reacting by banishment or worse, returning my money and making my camera orders null and void.

RED makes the tools for you to create the best images on the planet.

that.. I think we have succeeded.

Thank you Jarred. For the late night pep talks and the crazy on fire situations along the way. It's been a hell of a journey that I'll never fully be able to explain. The cameras, the technology, the people. I've truly enjoyed getting to know folks behind the RED curtain the shooter pointed at the stage. It's insane travelling in a different country through an airport and randomly stumbling across RED shooters worldwide. Everybody exudes so much passion and that's good company to keep.

As for the tools, you're damn right you guys are making the best digital cinema tech right now. I've had footage from this last shoot make people cry and that's a powerful and touching experience. The images are bigger than life and force people to look deeper into them. I appreciate those efforts and the world gets to experience everybody's hard work. It's an amazing circle really.

Thanks so damn much.

FWIW, it's not just the faithful who are impressed with what RED is doing. Just this year - sharp, open minded, industry vets who have not exactly been RED fans have been saying things like "RED is killing it lately".

Just wait until lots of 8K Helium imagery gets into the grading rooms of top colorists... Sure hope the new imaging pipeline/color science is ready soon, it feels like RED is about to shut up most of the remaining haters.

Cheers - #19

Jarred -- Thank you for the amazing way you run this enterprise, I try to reflect some of your skills and dedication in my daily life. As a member of this forum that now owns a Scarlet W (soon to be upgraded) and also in line for another Epic-W all I can say is that the product exceeds the hype. It is wonderful that in this crazy world, there is still such a gem as Red with you at the helm. Thanks for the experience.
Best,
Jon Dishler

Jarred, you've continued Jim's tradition of being open and forthright about your strengths and weaknesses. It's a breath of fresh air in a world so focused on "what have you done for me lately?" I love that you are forward thinking and always have an eye on the future! I hope to have one of your cameras in my hands soon.

Thank YOU!!!

Enough said, but:

You are amazing, you are redefining customer-relationships, re-inventing business, disrupting the market and changing history. It's a joy to follow you, to be a tiny little part of something so big, different and unique. I said it before, but can't say it often enough: i love this company, first and foremost because of the wonderful people driving it and secondly because of the world-class products and out-of-this-world service.

Thank you so much Jarred, Brent, Hunter, Clark, and Chris. Thanks for being weird, innovative, thinking different, passionate, bucking the corporate homogenous mind-think of the bottom line, and wanting not just the tech to be better but also as a company of uniquely talented individuals. You guys rock and I'm proud to get my second RED camera and have it exceed my wildest expectations. You guys are the best!

Thank you Jarred and the whole RED team! Personally and professionally I know that becoming a RED customer and joining this family has made me a better professional and more importantly a better person. Going on this ride has taught me a lot more than I could ever give back. This level of commitment to the user base is something that I will work everyday toward offering to every single customer moving forward. Thank You!

Thanks Jarred and team RED! Keep pushing and never stop! Your attitude is infectious. You guys rock. I've learnt so much since joining the RED family and I'll never leave after having a RED in my hands, it truly makes filmmaking so much more enjoyable, having beautiful images to work with. Kudos!

Jarred, even if Arri dropped a 12k alexa mini with 20 stops of DR for $40k I'd be a RED customer for life based solely on the experiences here over the last few months. I know of no other company this transparent, this invested in their customers, and this wiling to push the boundaries not for sales but for the love of what they do.

Thank YOU.

Coming from the Fire Chief, this means something.

I'm not a fanboy, nor do I subscribe to the mindset. I've got an allergy to the idea of the fanboy.

At the risk of coming off as a fanboy:
This note is something else entirely. This note defines the culture of RED. It's deeper than wearing the swag or hashtagging RDC or R3D or whatever on Instagram or using the proper stylized "RED" or "EPIC" or "RAVEN" (all caps) when texting or emailing or posting on REDUSER. From one REDUSER FedExing a RAVEN brain across the country for another to use in a time of need to others answering the late-night post looking for an extra mag or reader or whatnot – it's a culture from top to bottom. It started with Jim and Jarred continues it.

Jim's notion of the customer being part of the goal is one of the most honest, inspiring things I've heard pertaining to the relationship a company has with its customer/user base. Without us, the customer; there is no RED. The amount of respect in that single phrase is staggering. Community-building as one of the tenets of corporate culture is thriving on the RED campus and RED is thriving as a direct result of it. More corporations should study their model of respect and appreciation.

Thanks, Jarred, for keeping everyone in the loop as much as Brent will allow, and for making every effort to make good on the SCARLET-W bottleneck. It will be a while, if ever, until I step up to DSMC2, but I'm glad to be a part of this community.
