Hehe, I do shoot for a living - and I teach. But I'm self employed. Usually I rent the bigger cameras. Now I don't have to anymore.

For me, the money is not the issue (and I am very grateful about that), but the work that I would use the Scarlet for is currently pro bono (theatre). I'll likely get some paying work in theatre and film (as a set photographer) in future, but right now the Scarlet would just be a luxury.

FWIW, if the special shot for which these cameras were rented is a bullet-time shot, I suspect that the shot is not an improvement on conventional bullet-time. Rather, the cameras were chosen simply because they will match the A-cameras. Nothing more complicated than that. But that is just IMHO. If I'm right, someone can flip me a nickel.
