  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 326...

REDline trim

REDline trim

I noticed B326 has new options when trimming R3D (optional save RMD sidecar file, generate QT proxies) which is cool but I was wondering if those are possible to set also when trimming using REDline ?

Unless they do exists but are not documented yet...

Thanks much, some GREAT new features in REDCINE-X !

So I go to export, and the clips show up in the batch monitor ready to go, but they're paused. I click resume and it appears to start for a second, but then it switches back to pause.

The only way to render it is by switching off the monitor out from the rocket. Previously the monitor out didn't affect the rendering, as the image on the monitor just went green when the rocket was working or disabled.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Thanks.

I Broke Redcine X

I Broke Redcine X

Somehow I broke 326 Now when rendering I only get half a frame of "snow" the other half black. Tried 320 and get the same thing. I think this happened after hitting "install redline" from the help menu. Any thoughts?

326 on my iMac (2.93GHz C2D, 4gb ram) renders blank quicktimes, even after I installed REDLine :( had to go back to 321 (without installing REDLine), and working fine.

FYI, I was rendering 2k and 3k 2:1 clips to ProRes, ProRes Proxy, ProRes LT

I've tried to import a FCP XML several times and 326 Crashes "Unexpectedly". It's consistent, I can't get it to load a XML without crashing.

Any way I can choose how to output audio? I can't seem to find any setting for it, any audio ends up as 32-bit uncompressed which gives unpredictable results when importing in AVID.

Actually.. I can't get monitor out from the Rocket at all in this build. When I click the monitor button it lights up but nothing happens, no pop-up menu. Should I try the 32-bit version? I'm on 10.6.4 on a 2009 8-core MacPro.

Click the Rocket icon next to the monitor button to access settings. The settings are now persistent, and the monitoring can be toggled on and off. Great improvement.

Ahh, thanks! Going to try that.

Please don't allow clips to disappear from a bin unless properly selected and deleted.

Ditto on this one!

I am having issues with saving looks. It saves the look after I create the file and it changes until I make a new one? Wacky on this, I had to go back to older builds. Anyone else have this?

Prost,
Rich

Why Redcine X is not using the full power of all the cores for rendering? Am I missing something? I render the clips way faster with Clipfinder. With redcine -x it barely uses all my cores.

Also how can I recreate the proxies with Redcine-x? I looked everywhere and I can't do it.

Red cine has some amaizing features, like the pre ram viewing mode, but still is way slower for rendering compared to Clipfinder, that makes it really difficult for me to use it.

Thanks Red for keep improving. Please update it to use more core power. Please.

It is just a bit hidden in the export settings :

Create a new export preset (+ sign) then select 'QuickTime Wrapper' as the format. Place all clips in a bin and "export" all clips in bin using this preset... it will recreate all 4 QT wrapper with the new color values.

WOW.

WOW.

F'ing wow. MY whole workflow just changed, got better, and made me a happier person. Trimming R3D's is magic for my wand. To be able to do this, get a working cut in FCP with no headache, and finish in either After Effects CS5 or Davinci??? Life just gets better and better with this camera! SWEET! Thanks Jim, Deanen, Graham, Jarred, etc!
