  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X BUILD 31 BETA ( With D.E.B )

@sander - Make sure you send that log and hardware information to Red. On REDuser we have seen that once before and you both have alarmingly similar setups. I'm on a PC and can't help much from a debugging perspective, but you shouldn't be seeing that. I believe it has something to do with installation or removal of preferences, but I could way off.

Wow! That is freaky weird. Never seen this on dragon.

Battistella

Here are the settings. Basically everything standard except a very low flut and 1/2 resolution or lower.

I tried both this version and the release version of RCX, both do it. Resolve doesn't have it though, so maybe something with my graphics card? On a 2013 rMBP.

Funny thing is that I saw someone post about this, then I though it was fixed but I guess not.

update: I tried exporting some frames and they have it too. So that would be unfortunate if you make offline files in RCX.

sander,

Please go to the help menu in REDCINE-X and select "Save System Information..." and "Save System Report..." and mail those files into us at redcinex at red dot com. A single frame R3D snapshot of a clip you're seeing this issue on would be greatly helpful, too.

Okay David from RedCineX support asked me if I was using OpenCL or CUDA. Turns out I was using CUDA and switching to OpenCL solves the problem!

How do you turn D.E.B on? I'm looking at a check box under Color Space/Gamma Space and unable to check to box to turn D.E.B on.

Do I have to be in a certain Color and Gamma Space for it to go live?

  • Added: Dragon Enhanced Blacks (D.E.B) control (CPU/GPU).

My clips are Dragon footage.

Maybe I need to upgrade the camera firmware, mine is at least 3 months old. Dragon Color isn't even an option currently.

Will,

D.E.B. can be turned on when a Dragon clip is loaded.

Thanks,
David

Hi Will,

Do you have Red Cine-X Pro 31 installed and open, with a clip of Dragon footage in the viewer?

Thank you very much

Fury

Yep, downloaded the new Beta v.31

My firmware was from April. 5.1.49. Which even then is still considered a Dragon.

David,

Still unable to check the D.E.B box after the latest release firmware build installed for the Epic Dragon Camera of ours.

5.1.58

Thanks.

Will,

D.E.B. can be turned on when a Dragon clip is loaded.

Thanks,
David

Will,

Do you have a Rocket or Rocket-X enabled? If so, disable the rocket and reload the clip. D.E.B. only works with GPU and/or software decodes.

Hi Grant,

For those of us who have invested in the RRX, when is the RRX enabling going to be implemented?

Thank you very much

Fury

Thanks Sander for working with me to narrow down the issue.

It appears to be a CUDA driver bug with version 6 and up. We'll be investigating more to get to the bottom of it.

In the meantime you can downgrade to a version 5 driver or switch to OpenCL.

Thanks,
David
