RED World Tour...

I'd love to suggest FINLAND - but since it's pretty much part of scandinavia

Actually it isn't. Finland is a Baltic nation. ;-)

Jim, it might make more sense to visit more of the developing nations. They would appreciate the cost savings of RED cameras over film (despite me being a film advocate otherwise!). Someone mentioned Jakarta. Why not?

CAVALLARIA up to the task

CAVALLARIA up to the task

hey Jim... we are CAVALLARIA (www.cavallaria.com) , lets talk... well make Brasil very hard to leave and we will paint it RED....

we can help host this event besides the giants in the market....

In no particular order, the countries we are considering are:

Brazil
China
India
Russia
Vietnam
Korea
UK
France
Italy
Czech Republic
Romania
Australia
Canada
Japan
Germany

Jim

I can't believe nobody mentioned The Netherlands…

So let me suggest Amsterdam. Home of the annual IBC convention. A few of you have been here before (the RAI convention center has one of the most spectacular screens - Ted presented here last september).

A small country but close to everywhere, 5th biggest Airport of Europe on crawling distance, great facilities.

If I can be of any assistance be sure to let me know. And if you don't stop by I will probable try to catch a presentation in the UK or Germany.

What a pity that you don't consider Argentina... Buenos Aires has historically been the cinema capital in South America for a long century... and it still is, for the quality and quantity of technicians, film schools, rental houses, production... some 40 working Red Ones (two of them are mine), several Epics (I add two myself) and Scarlets on the way...
Although it's true that Brazil has 190 million people, Argentina "only" 40... maybe next time?

Montreal has become eastern Canada's film capital. This year, more major productions were filmed here than elsewhere in Canada. 2012 will be even bigger. Robopocalypse comes to mind. This is home to La Cité du Cinéma. http://www.micheltrudel.tv/

Ya guys have to stop in Montreal. Contrary to what the rest of Canada says, we don't bite. Well most of the time.

Hollywood North Jim! Toronto Please!

You can crash at my house. You and Jarred can have the kids bunk beds! May be tricky getting a parking pass for you jet on the street though.

Theater Digital is a great place to hold it. http://www.theatred.com/

Jakarta has a massive TVC / film business... bigger than Vietnam, italy, Czech, Australia, France, Romania..... food for thought :)

I don't live there, But I shoot there from time to time...
I'm sorry but bigger or more important than Italy, France or Australia, I doubt :-) I don't even understand how these countries can be in the same line of a few others. There are hierarchies for sure. To compare any one of these is apples to oranges ;-)

I'd love for you to come to Ukraine, but that's just coz I live here, so I'll guess Russia is the best option for all eastern europe countries to see you. Please don't do it in Moscow tho. Go to Saint-Petersburg. If you can come to Kiev Ukraine, it would be AWESOME!

Not for all, not for those where Czech Republic, Romania is closer, but it could be Hungary, Bulgaria or Poland. We're basing something in Montenegro these days. To this part of Balkans, for example, is better Italy than any other Eastern Europe country. East/West ping-pong doesn't make sense anymore :-)

I would suggest Sweden, Just because they are always pumping out awesome indie features and such. seems like they are very into indie filmmaking and im not sure how integrated they are in with new technology.

The swedish flag are quite red colored acctually. But troughing a red party that shows digital 4k projection would be a great way to end the alexa era over here.

If RED want to come to stockholm syndicate will arrange for the nicest facility for the event, studio1 at delight studios. we would also bring every DOP/filmworker in town, alot of free drinks, dj's and everything needed to host such event. We could all red supplyers in sweden to team up and show thier struts in the other studios next door. like we could show our milo moco rig, now equiped with an new 4xrod head that gives the posibility to hold the epic in perfect nodal. etc.
There has been a few years whitout a Syndicate party, so timing is perfect. If you eould not come we would do it any way, but having the real guys in place is offcourse giving such an event far more impact.

Forgot to say when you get to Arlanda (the airport outside Stockholm). Just look for the "RED Mobile" it will take you straight to the party...

It's our black Hummer with big Red stickers looking like a Pelican case with chromed wheels...LOL

Winnipeg is a modest city of 800,000, home to the Jets, Bombers, and Roger Waters is doing TWO shows here because we love Floyd so much. WPG also happens to have the most restaurants per capita in Canada, and is located in the geographical center of North America.

But if flying to the middle of everywhere is an issue Van-groovy or T-zero are two and a half hour flights from here. Same with Montreal. All are world class cities.

Jim,

If you are considering Sydney Australia or any other Australian city the Australian Cinematographers Society would be open to any request from Red for cooperation with coordinating an event.

Tom"ACS committee member" Gleeson

As Tom said we'd love to have you out in Australia Jim. Would be great to have Ted out again and see all of you guys on our home turf.
We're testing Epic Build 2.0.2 this weekend and looking forward to seeing Red Ray and this new projector in action.

Australia please! Melbourne or Sydney would be great.

Brazil and France ??!!??

This is way to cool ! I'm in Rio untill April, but I'll come and see you guys in whatever city you'll be in.

I can't believe it, it's amazing !!!

Thank you so much for doing this...

Istanbul might be worth considering. RED has spread in leaps and bounds within the last couple of years and is extensively used in features and commercials. Yet there's still some resistance that needs to be crushed!

I agree that Stockholm would be good. You would also get people from the surrounding Scandinavian countries and the Baltics. From what I have seen here this is largely Alexa territory. I would love to see you guys shake things up a bit. I also could easily make it since I'll be in the area most of next year :)
