  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED WEAPON EVF

Very impressed with this EVF. Image plane is at infinity focus, which is fantastic. It's a viewfinder I can genuinely use.

Everyone who's been checking it out for the first time at IBC does a double take after a second of eye to eyecup ;)
 
This looks like just what I have always needed. A good EVF helps to inspire while working with a shitty EVF is a real downer. Hoping this matches and exceeds the Alexa EVF. OMG where am I going to find the money for all this stuff?

I'm kind of lusting on this viewfinder, in the old days (20+ years back) I use to get eye strain on OVF's and pretty much hated EVF's ... so haven't bought a EVF from RED (never even tried a EVF in 10 years). I really do like the immersive quality I use to get with optical view finders ... this is a fair chunk of money for me to get this so would be great if some people that looked into this comment. (especially people that use glasses, I can see very well between 5 to 18 inches, but out far my sight isn't that great).

Who mounts the EVF like this? Think about this setup on shoulder? Funny right.
Am i the only one who cares about ergonomics?
%100 im gonna buy this EVF , also i ll need 3rd party solutions to mount this perfectly on camera.
Jarred please post some pictures of weapon on shoulder with evf mounted on.
 
Tried it at IBC, then tried to steal it, got caught by Kristin. It has a huge range on the diopter and the fantastic thing is when you open your left eye the field plane is the same. This is a must have- adios Graticals.

How is the immersive experience? Enough for framing and pulling critical focus?

Tried it on IBC today! The first EVF I see myself using...
 
Will Element Technica make a Weapon EVF Interface to work with Mini Clutch & OG Clutch....

I feel likes its the best mount on the market for multiple EVFs

Just got off a show and DP had a Gratical on one looked great

Whoaaa they paked a lot of pixels in such a tiny space!
And the eyepeace locking system is a great idea as it permits loupes attachement. Is RED going to develop something like that?

Yeah, some way of interfacing with an Oconnor/Arri style eye piece leveler is a must.

My guess is that you can flip and flopp the image on this thing then what you are asking for is not realy relevant... exept the red logo ends up up side down. :)
