  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Rocket update...

It's a great place, my perfect dream world. You're welcome any time. :-)

No disappointment by me. Like I said, I can't afford a RR right now, so its not an issue for me. By the time I do, I'm sure RR support will be rampant among 3rd parties. It just seemed odd to me the release order, and thought it was worth an inquiry.

Now, go back to work... There are lots of future Epic customers waiting patiently for the next Peter Jackson demo! ;-)

No worries Kyle. If you havn't found out by now.. we are anything but normal... (even though It is somewhat normal for an SDK to be released after a new product launch)

Abby Normal...

Yeah, we always first do an first version that rolls into our software first so we can work out issues before sending an sdk out to hundreds of developers.

Sounds like a plan to me! Keep up the great work guys. Glad you've got a job in these hard times.

Brook, in the other thread Jim said just a few this week a many more next week.

Hm, too many threads... hard to keep track of things!

I suggest a separate RED RAY area for the the forum. Who's with me?

Maybe we can get a mod to help with this? ;-)

Hey, a thought just struck me (happens once in a while if you're prepared to wait). If this thing eventually gains support from both Apple and Avid, we could finally see a monitoring solution to bridge the gap. Imagine one machine that could run either FCP or MC without mucking about with display cards.

I dont know about a separate RED RAY area.. but a RED ROCKET is a great idea...

It looks like we shipped the 1st handful of RED Rocket™™™™ cards out today and I want to thank our development team, especially Deanan and Rob, for the many sleepless nights they have spent so we could all sleep tight (much faster transcoding). I'd also like to thank DVS for giving us a hand with a couple of difficult issues.

Jim

Hi Jim,

thanks for letting us know. Its very impressive how fast this thing seems to enter market, very well done (so far, some work still ahead I suspect)!

And the guys at DVS are really nice people and know their stuff very well ;) - at least those I know.

Good luck on this product! I am looking forward to get this into our post systems.

Cheers,
Axel
