  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED ONE M-X Sensor Upgrade Program

If you havent noticed..:emote_popcorn:

Joseph Hutson is the equivalent of Dick Tracy here on reduser
before NAB I always use to identify with his old avatar
and usual informative questions and input
and after NAB its was interesting to see how much he really cemented his
place amongst Red.
He probably got the number straight from the source
Keep up the good work Joseph :gun:

P.s. I also use to follow alot of your input Shawn

Lol, you use[d] to ? Thanks buddy!

Brent, maybe you could answer this for me. I've been looking to purchase an "executed" R1-M from somebody here on Reduser. When the Epic ships and I get the R1, if that serial number is up for the MX upgrade, would the fact that the ownership has been transferred have any effect on my place in the MX upgrade line?

Thanks in advance!

I've been told that date of MX eligibility is based on the original ship date of the camera, regardless of ownership transfer.

Note that ownership transfer can NOT take place before a Stage 2 Epic has actually been received - to do otherwise would void the terms of sale for Stage 2.

Well, I won't give exact numbers - but, yes, it was certainly more than we expected. And that is a good problem to have - the sensor being that amazing that everyone wants it.

And, we are just about out of the woods on our initial backlog and should be emailing the next batch eligible for M-X pretty soon. I am hoping as early as next week....

Ooh! Perfect timing for us, fingers crossed.... :)

Cheers,

Paul

Brent,

I have camera #1545. Any estimate as to when I would be eligible for MX upgrade?

M

We have a camera in the 300's that is M-X upgraded. Don't know when it first delivered.

Yeah, I meant shipping date. Sorry. I just don't think 200's shipped as late as March 2008 did they?

Michael, it just depends on when the owners decided to pay for their delivery. Some cameras were delivered with others with a difference of more then 500.

Well, we are finally out from under the pile of RED ONE's we received from the first few M-X blasts. Based on the historical data we got from the first blasts, we have adjusted our take-rate projections and we will do smaller blasts based on that . Translation - That means once the camera hits us, we certainly expect to hit our turnaround times. And that means you have less time without your camera :)

Oh, I just blasted another group to say they are M-X-eligible!

BC

Any chance you can tell us what the latest date was on those shipping dates, Brent?

Stephen

Funny, I was talking to someone about the upgrades and they got the email while we were on the phone. I took delivery on April 10 2008. Any idea when that might come up?

M

Its funny how things finally start to catch up. With the MX now I will be able to have the dynamic range that was first suggested when the 1st specs of the Red 1 M hit the street.
