  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED ONE M-X Sensor Upgrade Program

Then my RED(#694, with invoice dated at 2/27/2008) should be probably in the next batch.

Any update on this yet?

I am eligible for the upgrade (got the email, haven't done any modifications, never even tried anything other than the stock PL mount) and have already paid for the bundle weeks ago.

Problem is that I won't have a full 2-week break in my calendar for at least 6 weeks. And next week I have to export a feature's worth of files for finishing a film....

One way it could work:

Charge the full price ($4750) for the Rocket now, if for some reason the person's camera isn't eligible for the upgrade or they decide not to go through with the upgrade then no problem.

Charge the remaining $4000 of the bundle price when they do go through with the upgrade.

If you did the official ownership transfer through RED, then you'd fall under the original delivery date of the camera.

Some are upgrading their R1 now, even though they plan on trading it is later, because they can easily earn the cost of upgrade back in a few months. Some just want the best image no matter what. Others can't afford to upgrade and trade in. Some can't afford to even buy a RED ONE. No worries on our end. Our job is to offer a great camera at a good value, treat our customers the best we can and listen carefully. But "free everything" is not a business model.

I have never had a bad experience with Red when I call for questions or to order more products. I love dealing with my bomb rep, and feel your company is run at a standard where it puts most of the giant corps to shame.

I was just trying to understand the discount on the MX sensor. I am definitely in the position where I want the best images at all times, but cannot afford to upgrade now. I realize that it's hard to cater to everyones personal needs and am completely fine with that.

Thanks again for a great camera from all of us Canadians.

Funny thing, I'm on the other side of this equation, wanting to get the Rocket now, since my number won't be up for quite some time being 2658. Sounds like shortly, they're going to have a good resolution for all.
 
So no option to upgrade/trade in at RED Europe? Everything has to go back to the US?
 
So if we pay for the upgrade and the red rocket, must we wait for our turn for the upgrade in order to get the red rocket as well? Or is there a way we can get the rocket upon payment first then wait for our turn to upgrade?

Upgrade the sensor and ship it back 1 time

I want Red Rocket and I want it now. I also want to have the MX upgrade but I'm 2770.

It would be nice if some arrangement could be made.

Could I pick it up at RED Day and bring it back with me instead? Or buy it from the RED (physical) store?
