I have been driving around with W for the last 2 nights all night long in Downtown Los Angeles testing random new things. I was having so much fun I kept telling myself " ok just one more shot " over and over and over again until the sun came up.

Sincerely hope some of this is geared towards drones. Love the Inspire 1, love it, but the camera ain't no Dragon. I want HDRx for 6K Dolby Vision finish in my drone shots

Shitty comparison because scale and other aspects are off, but this looks like possibly a new body. At the very least a smaller, slimmer side ssd module specifically for minimags? The old side ssd module was designed to accommodate the larger redmags in its initial design. So there's some space savings to be had there in a redesign. It looks to be lower on the body as well. Not 100% sure though.

I'm one of many who just can't make the Dragon jump by June so it looks like I will be playing upgrade leapfrog with this like I have done with other tech I use. I'm wondering what kind of trade credit will be offered for MX when moving to weapon and how MX will be fairing on the open market by the time Weapon is available outside of the upgrade queue.

If I can't keep up hopefully I will still be able to tag along.

Where is that damned crystal ball of mine? I should have upgraded that too.

So Weapon is going to be an upgrade. Old mags are out and Minis are in. I wonder how many other accessories might be left in the dust and how much the form might change.

I think you are misunderstanding the way it works. There isn't an upgrade or credit from MX to the new camera, only from Dragon.
MX will be EOL.
You can of course sell your MX and buy the new camera or just carry on using the MX.
The MX will still continue to work just fine into the future.

I think you are right. When I read Jarred's 'It's like a double discount' remark after some other general comments about customer loyalty and not wanting to leave people (or rather bits of gear) behind, I think I heard a little of what I wanted to hear and made a bit of a mental leap.

Here is hoping that market values remain strong. RedOne held value for what, almost 7 unusual years?

Edit:

OTOH, wasn't there some kind of path for RedOne owners who didn't immediately upgrade their R1 to MX to get into Epic at a reduced cost? If I remember correctly it wasn't as big a savings as those who jumped right in, but there was an accommodation.

I don't mention it assuming how it will work this time, rather to indicate my mode of thought.

Ooo .. a slightly narrower left to right Brain ... (SSD side) , and a (complete guess) 50% less deep brain!

I would speculate this means fewer circuit boards, less heat, 14nm FGPA?, optionally more horsepower.



The Ariel on the Router box looks like a Wave 1 blade MIMO ....

AF Focusing with an F4 lens pointing out the back .... not so sure ... so I guess the new SDK is sending full screen for touch focus?
