  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Mysterious SKULL

.... what about a Red Gimbal that uses the Epics gyro feed to keep it level .... with a feed into and Occulus rift style headset.

:)

AJ

(Ps .. I wonder if the Rift will be using octocore A72s in 2016 :)

Im thinking "skull"... making the camera into two eyes instead of one... the change of the front under the sensor with the two button size connectors and an extra module on the side. Possibly light field capture? And the connectors in the front are not connectors at all but depth sensors same kind as Xbox kinect. With such tech around the dragon sensor you would get very decent stereo 3D, post focus pulling, depth masking and a lot of other things all trough one lens...

Edit: or as Bob says, a new cool looking cover for people that can not decide if they want the switch blade or the sidehandle :)

I'm moderately confident I've figured it out.

However, I'll remind you of the good news from Jarred's post:

"#‎GladIBoughtaDragon‬"

After my last few gigs with a couple hundred TBs of footage and combining with this I'm feeling those feels too.

What about an inert liquid that is pumped / sealed in the brain in the non optical section - that uses a Panasonic pyrolyic like compound to wick heat away to the outer surface of the Epic .... completely dispensing with the fan.

Just what you need .... for super high frame rates without going thermonuclear courtesy of the Dragon sesnsor @ 1000fps ?

.... and a New Solid State store device that can allow the brain to write at 6k @ 600fps!

:)

C'mon

There again ... those weird connectors thingies look interesting....

It's a handy cover for when you need to temporarily remove the side handle.

As simple as this sounds, I can't remember how many times this would've came in handy. Wish the current cover had a built in screw that can't be removed, keep losing that damn thing.

Hmmmm.... Blue Tape? :)

But, seriously, I think the new Skull device is more on the line of wearable headgear:

Common it got to be something special, high frame rate and all that is not that special I don´t think Steven Klein would post that he has seen the future even if he saw a dragon shooting 400000fps... as that is not the future. Or high framerate at high resolution is not really something new. Phantom flex 4k is not that new... A guy like steve Klein would comment that with "I saw a high speed camera today" at the most.

So if a well known fashion still photographer has seen the future it something different. Wireless 10Ge offload with 6k liveview on a big screen or such... I think he would find impressive, no?

from what I gather... y'all with a dragon is gettin' a thinner lighter camera.

I would much prefer 1000 fps of Red DR and IQ any day over the Flex or any other Phantom i have used, but it is true that a stills guy probably is more interested in some sort of peripheral like wireless or something that enhances still shooting form factors.
