  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Mysterious SKULL

A brain is in a scull. So it is near to think abut the scull as a new home for it, as a new head for our dragons.

The more I think about it, the more this makes sense to me. I doubt its a handheld Aaton style skull (we can dream though), but a new drone/gimbal skull seems logical. It doesn't look like that module could mount to the existing Epic body since there are those ridges on the top and bottom. Curious to see what they can improve upon besides space and weight. Exciting!
 
First the "W" in the logo, now I am looking at the white overlay and I am seeing a rib cage x-ray...
 
Weil, the one big thing against a new sensor is the mentioning of "Dragon is getting some new wings."
So if it were a new sensor, shouldn't it read: Epic is getting new wings. I believe the skull is an add on and not a new sensor.
So maybe it's a new "casing" aka brain but not with a new sensor.
Maybe it's more processing power. Maybe it's just an add on.
That said: the picture sure looks like a brain - somewhat.

upper left corner most probably reads PWR aka power

No more front fan. :)
 
Ah, yes. So we´re looking at the lower front of the camera. Front Fan is gone, and intake vents, formed as wings stick out to the sides, (we see one side with the logo, the other is obscured).....or... i don' t know... maybe not... :)
 
What about a drone specifically designed for Red? Similar to the Inspire 1... unbox and you're ready to fly.
 
I tend to think the two (X) in the front where the 1/8" mic ports used to be are captive bolts or cams to lock on a stabilizing platform with built in wireless.

They definitely controlled mine into believing that RED is no scam. And I still believe it. So they must know their way around that stuff. ;)
 
Whatever it is, it's definitely on the side of the body where the Switchblade or Side Handle is.
 
I'm going to guess it's a memory/ram module that allows an increase in frame rates. 6K 500fps for 30 seconds, 5K 750fps, 4K 1000fps, 3K 2000fps ;)

It looks to me like THAT skull has headphones on. Hmmmmm.... I wonder if they are the noise canceling kind. Those are my favorite. ;)
 
I heard that it's a 2/3", fixed lens indie camera they've been working on ;-)
 
Hmmm, I thought the Red Skull was a Marvel villain from Captain America...

Why so modest with the frame rates? 1000fps@ff should be the goal to hope for ;)
So 6K @ 1000fps and the others mounting up respectively ;)
