Thanks a lot for these answers, much appreciated!

I was wondering, what kind of power options and battery life we could expect from the Scarlet 2/3" Fixed? It seems like the ideal camera for applications like wildlife filming or otherwise filming in remote locations, so this is something I constantly worry about.

Since our competitors are finally paying attention... we aren't giving out any future info. But trust me when I tell you we have a lot of stuff lined up.

Jim

I think everyone trusts you on that! (but I don't trust the competition to keep up, even with a little heads up)

Low power draw so a long battery life.

Jim, I have two questions, beyond when my Epic-X will ship...

1) At the Red day in Vegas, I saw an awesome shoulder rig that seemed to share components with the base-plate and parts mounted on a green Red One. I know the firmware bug was slowing down Epic, but what is stopping you from releasing these accessory pieces? I'd like to begin replacing parts on my Red One that will be forward compatible with Epic-X.

2) Will there still be any difference between Epic-X and Epic S35 besides badging? In the past, there was a different color, as well as a beefier codec codec for Epic-X.

Will there be RED designed & made wide-screen and tele-photo adapters for the fixed lens Scarlet?

Peter

Not out of the gate.. but others will work ( remember, 8x has standard 77mm threads up front )

Current RED One owner and submitted for stage 2!

Just broke ground on our new facility doing live/studio and really hoping to utilize as many as 12 Epics. I know to ask for release dates are unrealistic. However, being on a deadline with our facility slated to be finished around Feb/Mar of next year is it realistic for us to plan on getting that many Epics?

No problem.

Jim

Are you concerned about Scarlet S35 cannibalizing EPIC S35 sales? Aside from increased frame rates why would a new RED customer choose EPIC S35 over Scarlet S35?

Any chance Scarlet S35 will get renamed to differentiate it more from the little 2/3" fixed and interchangeable version? Always a lot of confusion talking with folks about "Scarlet" since they all presume I mean the fixed lens. But really Scarlet S35 is more like an Epic Jr. Just saying.

End of 2011 or early 2012. Everything has been delayed unfortunately.

Jim

Thanks for that one - I am more then happy to wait. That camera will give me reason to revisit all the amazing locations I have been to and motivate me to explore more. This will be my "retirement" camera, if You know what I mean...

Are there any plans for RED lenses for this format, or can I start buying up slowly the existing 6x17 glass - and if so, what would be the most likely 3-rd party mount You will support?

Thank You again for Your time..

Peter

RED RAY 3D

RED RAY 3D

Will the RED-RAY (PRO) support the playback of stereo R3D footage? ...having real-time HW platform to quickly review the RAW shots will go a long way in any S3D production...

The RED-RAY PRO player can play back .R3D footage at up to 4K RGB output resolution, and we can Genlock two players for stereo .R3D playback capability.

Knowing the great inside stuff you guys know, what feature do you think isn't talked about enough/has the most under respected and least talked about impact/is just rad and you just love?

5K REDCODE at 120fps. Simple. No matter what is said, this is truly a miracle.

Jim

FF35 Equivalent of 28mm-224mm.

Thanks :D

Trying for a baby now and December shipping will be fabulous. And assuming a 3-month waiting list the Scarlet might be in my hands during delivery :001_wub:
