Did the installation works great... tried to upgrade our red mote... did not work the Redmote upgrade app is trying to get a connection...but connection fail. It's connected according to my network prefs. on my mac and I gave it the ip I was supposed to... what to do? in the manual it does not give any hint's what to do when it does not want to connect like this, or have I missed something..

Also have to say it one more time Play back is super great. So happy I could cry. I though it would be a tough one for you to do 5k debayer down ress and all that almost considered buying an AYA kipro mini that I was renting all the time. Now I can cancel that rental for next week. Super sweet.

Next thing on playback wishlist when you got this far could you please make 1080i with 25p embedded. it would really sort out our video assists, monitoring, mixer etc problems that we now have.

After the R1, the speed and usability of this thing is insane.
Boots up in 10sec and firmware updates in about 30.

At least black-shading still takes as long, comfortingly

There is no audio playback so far. It says in the documentation.

if the Epic firmware is a different version than the Redmote firmware, will the redmote still work on the back of the camera? I need to get this Redmote issue sorted out. It's becoming a problem for me.

Redmote won't work without a firmware upgrade.

v2.02 needs the REDmote firmware that's in that folder.

A little help tip for people having trouble with the redmote install via mac:

Disable your other network connections (airport, and Ethernet)

For those with problems upgrading redmotes on Mac you need to enter a subnet mask in the network preferences of 255.255.255.0. That should sort you out. And if you can a Wacom tablet, unplug it if it still doesn't upgrade. Seen that conflict for some.

Update: The Windows installer needs to be run as an administrator. On Win7, right click on the exe and select Run as Administrator. If not, you will get a bunch of can't write message boxes.

Just put the alpha firmware on last night at midnight. This morning had a music video shoot with a big artist. After the first shot they asked to see the playback. For months now I have dreaded that question. Not today, played back right away and the artist was super juiced with the shot and the rest of the day went great. I'm so happy red has finally got the playback working, it's a life saver for the small run and gun videos I do. Thanks RED

Problem... advice needed please

Loaded 2.0.2 last night and everything was fantastic. This morning prior to shooting I was adjusting LCD settings and suddenly the image in the LCD turned to grey vertical bars. Rebooted and the same, reloaded 2.0.2 the same. Rolled back to 1.6.46 and the same, tried 1.7.1 - the same. Also swapped out the LCD for the EVF and tried two different EVF/ monitor cables - any advice??

Update: Just got messages from Deanan and Brent, despite it being 2300 hrs on a Saturday evening in LA - thanks guys, that is REAL support
