  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED One was offering 2:1 ratios but now they are just around 1.9. But it is very easy to display the 16/9 frame guide and tell REDCINE-X to crop using this same guide.

2K goes up to 240 fps... and up to 160 for 3K.

2K went up to 300 fps in September when my camera was delivered, I doubt it's only 240 fps now.

If you read the top line of Mikael's message (contained within you're reply) you will see he is refering 2k with a 1.9 to 1 aspect ratio..

2K WS is still 300fps. 2k is 240fps.

Jarred, this update (although alpha) rocks hard! Playback is awesome, my redmote works again (it didn't like last FW release), new capture resolutions. I'm totally happy. Thanks!
 
ok, I must be taking stupid pills today - when I go to copy the "force upgrade" folder into a freshly formatted 128gb SSD card, it grays out and gives me the null sign and won't copy.

I've changed cards, re-downloaded the file several times, unmounted, re-mounted.

So it must be me...what am I missing here? I've only been doing this since Build 12 on my RED ONE. playback so close, and yet....
 
Quick Question:

Does Playback work thru

1) HDMI

2) HD-SDI port

3) Both HDMI and HD-SDI simulatneous


If it does work, is the output 24p, 30p or 60p?

I ask for those of us using external monitors, teradek and external prores recorders.

If you are using a Mac, it is probably RED Watchdog. It makes the drive read-only until you disable it.
 
Meryem, click on the little Red Watchdog icon on the top right of your screen. You can enable remount for read/write there.

Same here: fix = go to the little RED icon in the upper right hand corner of your screen, that is the RED Watchdog. You need to enable RED+WRITE in order to write to the REDmags
 
Het Meryem.... it was somewhere back on the post, but the watchdog must be turned on.... see the little red logo on the top-center-right of your mac....

besides that go to disk utility and varify and repair your SSD once mounted....after its repaired it will allow you to write on the drive.....

happiness is mucking around with new firmware builds on a Saturday afternoon.

Joseph thanks a million for posting that. Looks simple and nicely designed, the touch screen implementation looks really good. Really looking forward to using that in “anger”.
