Yes sir.I'm not saying it is too much for what it is but maybe a 256 GB version might bring the price down?.

He is not, it's just a coincidence. He is launching his new website on that date, and as part of that, sharing the extensive RED Dragon tests that in his words "showcase the power of this new sensor and hot it has turned this camera from the Jack of all trades to the master of all."Look like Shane Hurlbut going to share all the details on the Weapon 3.11.15

I understand all the discussion about "trade-ins" and retaining legacy Accessories. We have all spent a lot of money of modules and media and 3rd party designs. I am sure Jarred and Brent and team have thought long and hard. But what is important is that this new camera's design (inside and out) is the best those mad scientists (Graeme!) can come up with and that they should not hurt that design by trying to make all the legacy parts work.
Epic was a huge departure from the Red One design and thank God for that. Let RED give the best of what they've got and not be overly concerned about the past. Yes obsolescence Obsolete but that is what we get with the trade in deals....
Please do not make Jarred feel bad for not having to reverse engineer..... Otherwise it will be a Radio Shack bread board and Arri will continue unfettered.
Yes sir.
Granted. Weapon brain is actually almost half an inch shorter than the Epic brain, and when you add the modules there is no adapter needed and things get much more compact ( the base IO for example only adds 3/8" of an inch to the body ) For super compact setups, where you may not even need the base IO, just the battery module, you can skip the IO module completely.
I think he's talking about the v-mount Quickplate module. I don't think that any back module will work on WEAPON.So most likely the quick plate will still work.
Apparently some back modules are compatible with Weapon, but you won't need a module adapter or a +1 because the extra outputs are already on the main Weapon body.I think he's talking about the v-mount Quickplate module. I don't think that any back module will work on WEAPON.

Hmm. We will see. I hope you're right! Anything that I can keep my dual module![]()
Cool.
I certainly hope that's the case and we have multiple monitoring options, fullsize SDI in for those occasions when sound department foists their responsibilities upon camera department do happen. But HDMI? Oh good lord that connector needs to stay on video game systems and blu-ray players...and nothing else!
HDMI? A Lesson Never Learned.. Sigh
Jarred, will the RED MOTION TI CANON MOUNT work on Weapon?
I was just about to order it last week, but now I'm scared it won't work on Weapon.
