  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brilliant video by Peter and great publicity for RED. You need to get a few Scarlets down there for 4K BTS footage!

Amazing - At last we can concentrate on improving our skill instead of working around the limitations of the equipment we use. The gear is here ready, perfected. We just have to let it loose and work hard. Well done RED. You certainly outdid yourselves.
 
Free advertisement! Not that Red really needs it, but great that Peter Jackson acknowledges how big of a fingerprint Red will make on these films.
And just wow, I'm gonna have a camera with the same sensor which was used on The Hobbit - the prequel to my three very favorite movies!

A huge thank to you and Team RED for Scarlet, waited sooo long but far far exceeded all my expectations. Ordered mine just as soon as l could get through

Btw, I might add, that for those that still don't know I love the BTS some times more then the actual Movies themselves, as this is how
I became as passionate about Movies, and absolutely give my heats off to PJ to take time and do this, thanks PJ, see you soon in NZ!!

New SpaceCam RX Epic 3D System Shooting Aerials on Hobbit.

We are very pleased that the new SpaceCam RX gyro stabilized Epic 3D system was chosen to film all the aerials on Hobbit. The system is performing flawlessly and for the first time, incorporates a multi-channel fiber optic rotary joint bringing perfect video to the operator's monitors. In fact the image at the control console has been so consistent and faithful that no corrections have been necessary in post at all to this date and the waveform monitor has almost been rendered redundant.
The new SpaceCam RX as used on the Hobbit incorporates remote precision roll of image, straight down pan capability, unlimited helicopter manuveuring, continuous left and right eye monitoring and full motion record tied to same time code as the dual Epic Cameras.
The best to Aerial DP David Nowell and SpaceCam Tech, Andrew Sych. Great job guys.
