  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Observations...

What was stated before NAB began, when all of this was just conjecture, is that the production lines at RED will switch completely over to Weapon upgrades and production by that time. Thus, the window to get your Dragonized Epic or Scarlet would be finite. My personal guess is that the date may be somewhat "soft" but don't plan anything on just my opinion. :-)

It is reasonably applied toward the MX to Dragon, but, I'm already aware of the fact and not asking that. :)

What I am, is within the genus, upgrading Dragon to Dragon - as stated that it is not going anywhere for some time.

It's good to see you posting more frequently Jim.

Hey Jarred. This is fantastic news about the $5000 credit. I think that one caught a lot of people off guard with some confusion.

Can you tell us, is there any limitations to what we can use the credit on? For example, can we use the $5000 credit towards mini Mags and media???

thanks again dude 

Absolutely... The purpose of the credit is to make the transition from your Epic / Scarlet body to the new Weapon body as painless as possible since there are some new accessories, and can be applied to media, handles, modules, monitors, etc. It gets put into your account to spend on whatever you want.

I needed this.
I have a feeling you are not the only one... I just clarified that a bit on the post.

Your $5000 accessory credit will remain until you are ready to upgrade to Weapon, and is not limited to NAB week.

Are most of the older accessories, 5" touch screen for example, still viable?

What about some of the mounting options?

We probably should start asking the Weapon questions in the NAB2015 Weapon forums as we are all double posting questions everywhere and quickly hijacked this thread.

I'm on it. Summarizing as fast as my brain can think.

"7. Now Weapon. Everything better still. 6K and 8K. 16+ stops. 15 bit color. High frame rates."

So Weapon is better than Dragon in DR and color?

BTW: REDuser just now set the all time record for people online at over 44K

Folks seem to enjoy the Jim & Jarred show

Jim and Jarred,

thanks for for keeping the pedal to the floor and power shifting year after year.
Make "Good enough" obsolete while you are at it.

That is how it works. The $5000 accessory credit is for all of you that have Dragons before NAB and it is good to use until you are ready to upgrade to Weapon.. whenever that may be. That is one of the reasons why it was " worth it " to upgrade before NAB.

The $5000 accessory credit that is tied to NAB week is just for the new Weapon orders ( not upgrades ) .

Ah there we go :) now I understand. Maybe you can copy that to the first post of the Weapon MG and CF threads, because I couldn't find that purchasing new during NAB gives you a $5K credit.

It is there in yellow on those pages.

Sorry Jarred for being the one but it still confuses me, because i can't find any info about "purchasing new" in that post. just that the acc credit is here to stay until after nab - which I understand as being in relation to the trade in / upgrade only info as it says

But maybe it's just me.

All is cool - I love what you're doing here!

I just want to make sure so that nobody else misses it as I did. :)
