  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

No excuse for 5K@24P on Scarlet

4.5K would be a great option, though it still doesn't quite hold up with RED's 4K delivery idea - but it would be a positiv sign.

I think both cameras should upgrade when Dragon comes out. 5K for Scarlet and as suggested 6K for Epic and more goodies. Otherwise as mentioned above, Scarlet 5K will make Epics less desirable and people who invested / took loans will be in financial losses.

Agree!! Plus for people who are drawing Sony comparison, remember the Sonys are NOT out yet. Everyone still has 4-6 months or whatever until they launch. Who knows what the quality will be of their 4K cameras.
 
If it is so improbable that scarlet get 4.5k update, why you epic owners are so defensive and upset there? Or maybe it's because you know that it's a logical move that can be made.
 
Those features have been unlocked for users of a special upgrade...that upgrade is called EPIC.

More features cost more.

Nobody is whining here. Just you. People are just wondering if it's a possibility. Then arrived the epic cops, angry and salivating. If you're bored with the discussion, just move to epic forum, it's the right place.
 
well i guess a lot of people, including me, would pay for a 4.5k firmware update.

You knew your camera's limitations when you chose it, if your needs have changed, its time to change brains.

I mean, epic's guys and scarlet's one.

Frankly, No 5K for the scarlet, IT IS OK, even if there is a sony and a canon with 4KRAW.
And for the epics owner who are just useless here (exept one or two that are actually trying to discuss), 4,5K will not make your fucking great camera a piece of shit. The red one have it, that doesn't intercut with the epic quality and sale. So let us trying to have it.

4,5K widescreen will be a gift. and will be taken as that.

That's the problem with the forum sometimes... err oftentimes. Any discussions are converted to personal attacks.. from my POV, RED should evaluate and see what makes sense as a business model. R1 4.5K vs Scarlet 4K is funny, but Scarlet 5K vs Epic 5K is also funny...
