It's kinda humorous to me how people are ranting on how RED has doubled the price of Scarlet since it's first inception.
QUESTION: How can the first price increase of $1,000 double the price of a 3K for $3K Scarlet?
FACTS: People went nuts in April 2008 when RED let people have an inside look at this new camera called the Scarlet.
"$3K for 3K" was a great marketing slogan for people to talk about...just as a 4K RAW camera for $17,500 was/is. In reality that was for a brain only....
Okay I am a fan of the Red One, great camera Scarlet and Epic, when released will have equally great images. But you are way wrong with this reasoning "3K for 3K" was the original stated price we all agree is true. The new price is much closer to double the original price. The interview Ted gave with the lady from WEVA, if I can para-phrase, you will be able to purchase a Scarlet camera ready to shoot out of the box that will shoot 3K for 3K.
And now the price is $4750+HDR, $1000 roughly,=$5750 which is much closer to 6K than 3K. That looks like it has doubled. Now that's a FACT. I am still waiting to buy one anyway.
