  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW RED.COM website live!

Guys, you should have received an email earlier today with a heads up on the new site launching, and notifying you that you will get an email to reset your password to register for the new site. There is a link in the email to do that.

Copy from email:

Later today, RED will be launching a new online experience. As part of that launch, there will also be a system update that will require you to re-authenticate your account on RED.com.

No action is necessary right now, but you will receive an automated email later today from RED via Netsuite (RED's back-end technology platform) that will prompt you to reset your password. You can also visit RED.com in the coming days to reset your password as necessary.

We are currently porting over all existing users over from the old back end to the new. Once complete, you will get that email saying your account is ready and to reset your password.

Nice redesign of the store experience. Really, really like the new store sorting concept, makes looking for what I need speedier.

Don't have really issues, but if there's any note I have is on the main Accessories landing page where it creates new rows for each item the design breakup from how DSMC2 cameras are a column of 3 per row (only one row though) allows for a quicker ingestion of info versus the long vertical scroll of the Accessories page.

Looks good!

It would definitely be nice if items in the store had more images in some cases and images of item mounted or in use. Just nice to see all the details of mounts and various things before buying. And the Accessory Packages especially. Photos of each part that's included, plus an image of the camera all rigged up would be a good idea.

Also seeing those nice close up shots of the DSMC2 bodies with that fancy new "DSMC2" coin really makes me want one for my DSMC2 Gemini haha.

Applause for the overhaul!! Looks fantastic and seems faster, more responsive.

Looks like lots of products have been discontinued and are now completely obsolete. I would assume that's part of the restructuring -cleaning up all the dusty corners. True to obsolete obsolescence form!
Perhaps we all are in for a treat of new product offerings soon? Lots of space to showcase the latest and greatest!
As always, I'll be keeping my eyes open for the possibility.

I can not login to my account.

I also can not reset my passwort.

"The supplied email has not been registered as a customer at our Web store"

I am a customer since RED One...

Same here - customer since Epic X days...

Guess it's teething troubles.

I'd been meaning to pick up a +1 module for my Dragon (DSMC1)... guess I really am an old timer now :)

If you don't see a product online, it may mean there are very limited quantities so feel free to shoot an email to your rep / contact us via RED.com to check if we might still have a few.

Same problem here. Can NOT login to the account.

I assume you guys posting this have all read my post earlier in this thread about this?

I always recommend you check all posts in a thread before replying to one that may have been addressed in a later post.

This is not great. I'm in the middle of support discussions, I can't login to my support thread. I had an email earlier saying I will need to reset passwords. But that fails saying my email is not in use. This just gets better and better.

Yes I got that email and clicked the link. All I get on attempting to reset is "The supplied email has not been registered as a customer at our Web store."

Good job guys. 4 1/2 weeks without my camera, Red rep ignoring emails for over a week, camera stuck in customs and now I cant even message the only person at RED who is contacting me Dan Baum.

I'd assumed you could go to the site and request a new password... guess we have to wait for the second email or let a little time pass.

My bad - no worries :)

A small suggestion for the Addresses section of the customer part of the website - make the phone number field alpha-numeric so we can add country codes etc such as +31 6 .... in a human readable way. Currently it tries to convert to the US number model and fails badly.

Same with ZIP codes - make the field alpha-numeric as countries have alpha-numeric post codes often.

Cheers!

James, I located your support thread and emailed you with a cc to Dan and an intro to Trevor from Product Support.

We are migrating thousands and thousands of customer web accounts from our old platform to our new, and it will take some time. Once your account is migrated, you will get that "reset your password" email. Trying to reset in advance of that, your data won't be there.

So, in other words, email #1 is "new .com is live" heads up. Email #2 is "your account is live, please re-authenticate."

As to login credentials for the My Account section of RED.com versus our ZenDesk support portal, I am checking that. Being two different platforms, I know there are some limits to the integration between the two.

Thank you, Paul.

Any chance you'll still have a "battle-tested" section? :)

It does not have its own product category/filter. A battle-tested product resides in its corresponding category. For example ONLY, a BT SCARLET-W would reside in CAMERA BRAINS.
