  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Fast Prime Set WOW

Only thing I need to ask is why you are making silly comparisons between cameras that you have not actually used and don't exist yet.

Steve,

why you've got so crazy now?

I wrote and showed what was shown to us about ISO possibilities by those two still not released cameras.

What is strange with it?

Btw, I do have R1 with M sensor and I WISH that M-X upgrage will bring some new things in the case of ISO sensitivity.

Then I go online and found the examples of new M-X ISO possibilities and then go back to the competitor site and saw what they have now.

Then I put all those pictures together and made my own conclusion.

That's it.

Also R1 M-X upgrade will cost me $4.500 and the new competitor cam Euro 50.000.

But we still experiencing very had time of economy slow recovering and I'm a pure individual owner but not a big rental...

So I found myself in this cold winter time at my hot bath so happy :bath:

Sanjin, I know you have a Red one. You were making a comparison between a sesnor that you don't have, and a camera that you don't have. Shots done in entirely different situations. Why don't you wait for them to be released and for side by side comparisons to be done before bad mouthing either.

And are those shots really from a M X upgrade ?

I don't think anyone said one of those frame grabs was M-X did they? Sure hope not.

Jim

Steve.

I'm not religious in a way and I'm a pure intellectual as somebody would say in that way...

That means I can deal with facts but not in something that would exists as an idea only.

Simply RED showed M-X results and I said WOW...

As an early RED1 user I can trust them in that way of sensor development...

That's all folks...

I think the difference with you to for example me is that I say interesting. Wow is for my own personal evaluation.

Ha ha I don't have to say that,

it's more like a race (Formula 1 or whatever) where you believe that your car is able to make it in every race(?),

every curve and then every race, but then you should became a play-boy before you can die...

:bath: :willy_nilly: :hand:

Let's my camera win the first race or you will want this too or the same for sure...or...

An Arri 235 wins hands down.

I agree. The 235 has been great to shoot with and is very versatile (stock choices, frame rates, size and accessibility, etc)

but back to the lenses. There is no mystery to who is making them and I am not sure why everyone is still guessing. Band Pro is really playing this up past its point of freshness. I'm sure something new will come around in Feb, seems like glass is popping up all over anyways.

Keep saturating the market with new glass, it benefits us all (the buyers of tried and true lenses with years of excellent results).

p.s. Maybe Band Pro should start there own highly successful forum to talk about their partnerships. I have a feeling you wouldn't have RED Team members posting there with competing avatars and trying to sell their wares.

And maybe if they were sponsors ...

Also don't forget that upcoming Epic looks like you would compare Apple computer (RED Epic) with Fujitsu Siemens Computer (partly German based computer) Arri Alev III EVF.

So what is better computer?

Of course Apple (in this case RED Epic)...

Been hitting the crackpipe again? Are you really that foolish? Are you now stating that because RED is manufactured in the Far East as opposed to Northern Europe that this is why it of course must be superior? Is this truly the methodology of your thinking?

I guess if I can look anything up on the web and post it then it must be true and I have therefore proven my point. Excuse me while I do some research over at the Flat Earth Society's website.

Dude, you're off your rocker.

Sanjin.... you're off your rocker.

Mitch, Will ya leave Sanjin alone? Shame on you!

We all love Sanjin so much, even your good friend Michael came specially to this board, with no other purpose or selfish benefit, but to anounce that he made an incredible set of Leica glass especially for Sanjin. How considerate and thoughtful is that! Even JJ was impressed.

Now behave yourself, Mitch! :hand: LOL

Mitch,

could be that I'm driving you crazy with some of my posts...but nothing like the Flat Earth Society Homepage or a similar kind of jokes...

I'm using easy way of comparative methodology based on a pure facts and evidences to draw some possible conclusions but not at all talking nonsense or behave foolish... it's more like a :biggrinjester:

Btw., I do have a several Apple computers where is written Designed by Apple in California and Assembled in China or Taiwan.

Also on my RED #694 is written: Designed, Engineered and Tested by RED Digital Cinema, Orange County, CA USA, Made in Singapore.

At one of my Leica cameras is written: Leica Camera Germany, Made in Japan - Fabriqué au Japon.

My newest car is VW Tiguan Made in Germany at Wolfsburg VW factories and till now was 5 times in service

just because at a rainy weather water entering inside of the car through the small hole at one of back lights.

Finally they found and fixed that after the 5th service.

So you can draw your own conclusion what I wanted to say...

A good luck.

But let's go back to the topic of the tread that is about Leica's Mystery (still have to be named) primes.

You know about production, education and social standards in Germany in comparison to Singapore or even China?

Have you seen what production standards Arnold&Richter in Munich has? What technology they use, how they train their employees and how they're paid?

Just to give you an idea: A Facharbeiter (trained worker) from ARRI get's about 30000-60000€/year (45000-90000$), a worker in Singapore with a good contract (and not taken from the Philippines or elsewhere for a few years) might get 5000-10000€/year. I've worked for a company with a production site in Singapore: cheap labour and loose regulations, you can do anything there. But establishing new processes, run complex machines without Facharbeiter, just workers trained-on-the-job and engineers who think badly about production people thousands km away from R&D? Bad idea, trust me... And I felt ashamed being German, seeing a German company using these people as cheap slaves (of course, it's much worse in China)...

Talk with people working in production from companies with high quality like ARRI, Stihl, Miele, Leica or work a few months in larger German companies that have international production networks (R&D, innovative and flagship production in Germany - all other stuff wherever it's cheap) like VW, Bosch or Daimler and ask engineers and Facharbeiter what their experience is...

You will never look on globalization and quality the same way, that's for sure...

Have you ever showed a Zerspanungstechniker the fabulous Apple-unibody production video? First reaction in my case: "Look at these Americans, work like 20 years ago, wait, that's not filmed in the USA?"

Have you looked were your Tiguan's back lights come from? A Tiguan is about 30-40% made by Volkswagen Germany and 60-70% "Made in Germany" at all.

You like RED? Fine. You hate ARRI and think it's overpriced junk with a big name (ARRI/"Made in Germany") to pay for? First take a look into production and engineering, please.

I do not hate Arri at all and owe Arri MFF-1 Follow focus with LWS Bridge and integrated hand wheel.

Also I just wanted to say that upgraded R1 with M-X and has BeBob Rouge hot swap battery adapter,

P+S Technik IMS universal mount both accessories for R1 Made in Germany could be more attractive option (US$4500)

than a brand new Arri Alev III EVF cine digital camera (about Euro 50.000).

Btw., I'm not a hater I just want to make my cine digital solution as better as possible...

$ 4500, plus original cost of Red 1 body, batts, viewfinder etc.

Hahaha, Sanjin is in top form! :smilielol5: Hoorah!

Steve,

yes of course, batts, drive, CF cards, EVF, LSD, case,... all basic you would need...

Hahaha, Sanjin is in top form! :smilielol5: Hoorah!

Tom

as you said I'm always in top form but this sort of "hunting" should probably and hopefully stop soon... slowly I'm getting bored...

Hi Sanjin

I appreciate that allot of what your write is tongue in cheek and created for your pleasure and amusement. Sometimes it is difficult to understand for us other Redusers the difference between what you say for 'your pleasure' and what you say that is relevant to the main thrust of this forum.

Perhaps you could consider a way of flagging the difference in your posts?

kind regards

Michael L

Michael,

I would say these posts like mine that look sometimes a bit "noisy and provocative" are very helpful

for the companies like a RED, Arri, Sony, Panavision, Leica, Cooke, etc,...

For example at diverse reaction that you can find on this tread those companies can test a public opinion

about their new and upcoming products very easy and also it's a sort of free survey as a method

for companies to collect consumer opinions about a product...

Also sometimes in this sort of tread you can find a reaction or an answer from the highest company executives or even company bosses here...

And the rest of us consumers and users have a great fun to read that.
