New Blade Lights! Group Buy!!

Hi,

Could be interested in 4x 36" if we reach 30+ and if the port to France is not to expensive.

Hey Chris -

Thanks for organizing the group buy put me down for 2 18" - and if we hit a point where we may bump to 30, I'll take 4 18"s... I'll check back before March 11 to see how we're doing. :-)

Heya Chris,

Thanks for putting this together. Put me down for at least one 18". I will probably go for two but want to see the pricing on the battery mounts before committing to a second one. Thanks!

Sign me up for 1 x 36" :)

Gotcha down for 4 (I'm sure we'll hit at least 30), just let me know if you want to be removed. FloLight got back to me and they are projecting roughly $90/unit for shipping to France. They also discussed the possibility of paying once the GB completes, then, once their distributors there are setup and stocked, shipping would be a lot less, if that's something you might want to think about.

Yea, I think we'll hit 30 for sure!

Trying to get that info asap for you guys!

In the OP, it says for the 36":
20 orders - $50 off = $729 due & free shipping within USA

I think you meant to say this, since it is $799 - $50:
20 orders - $50 off = $749 due & free shipping within USA

I am seriously considering this deal. Waiting on HFR info.

Thanks and fixed!

Chris - please put me down for 1 x 18". I may bump it but that should do for now. Thanks.

They are all daylight, right?

Will do and you have the option for daylight or tungsten. They are coming out with a bi-color (which may only be in the pro version), but personally, I'd stick with daylight!

Seriously considering a 36", but would love to see some photometrics first. ;)

Question… The rear mounting point on the light…is it fixed, or can it be removed? Can these units lay completely flat on their backs, or does the mounting ball (or yoke, or whatever it is) protrude?

I knew you would not resist too long on those great lights hehe :-)

Photometrics coming Monday. I'm heading to Japan on SaturdaY, so I'm gonna do my best for keeping up with this thread.

And yea, the pin is removable from the back of the light.

Please put me down for 2 of the 18 or 36, I can't quite decide. But I want 2 of them for sure. If we can get a case at a discount as well, I may go for 4 of them (2 of each). Thanks for organizing the GB Chris.

Put me down for one of both sizes.

You don't have to decide on the exact length now..just need to decide the quantity before the end of the GB

Photometrics

Here are the photometrics.

It's reading out 5732, R9 - 91

R8 is 96, R7 is 99
So obviously no negative green is needed, reads as good if not better than a Kino will
R12- which is Blue reads 70
Overall - 93-96

Also - that is for the standard 5600k daylight

The new ballast they have chosen has no flicker at all output levels. Will be confirming on HFR as well.

I'm looking for a lighting solution that is similar in light output as a Joker 200 or 400 (but much cheaper), that also works well for soft diffused light for food and other table-top shooting (high key and low key).
Could a cookie or pattern be clipped to the barn doors?
My ignorance in the science and specs of lighting makes it hard to know if these blades would help fit that need.

Any thoughts or input? And if this fits my needs, would a 36" be overkill for food items like pizzas or salads or would an 18" be sufficient?

Thanks.

P.S.

These are photometrics for the Joker 400. I see the Foot Candle rating, but it obviously varies based on distance. On these blades, what distance is that 465 FC?
