  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Blade Lights! Group Buy!!

I have paid a lot of duty tax + shipping (380$ + 210$ !!) but I love my BladeLights.

Has anyone found the perfect case for the blade + balast ?

For people who have received their lights, can I ask if it came with a filter holder, carabiner, or on/off switch?
 
I got mine off the BMC User group buy, but I can say that they came with none of the above. The filters were stored in the filter slots in the light, definitely no carabiner in the package, and the light does not feature an on/off switch - quite a strange omission. Honestly, these lights feel much cheaper made than these forums would have suggested. One of my flags was slightly warped - I don't think the metal is all that high quality. The dimmer switch is one of the silliest implementations I have seen. It's literally a separate wire coming out of the ballast with a very cheap plastic manual dimmer knob - no digital dimming, no dimming percentages displayed, and the dimming does not feel very linear. The quality of the light is good, though color fringing is a bit of an issue without diffusion. The power cords were of different thicknesses for each of the two 36" lights I bought.

The bags they came with were also very cheaply made - one of the free light stands they added to the Group Buy punctured through to the exterior of the bag. I'm not particularly sure how, but the bags are not padded and don't feel like even a good short term storage method for the light kits. Not sure how I feel about this purchase overall, though the price was reasonable.

Think there's any chance they'll run this discount promotion again for 10% off the battery mount? I was on the original group buy (purchased three lights) and never received an email from FloLight that these were available for the blade lights.:confused1:
