  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Accessories in Stock

Thanks Tonaci, that answers a few questions and gives some more ideas, i guess my wish-list did increase during watching that video. ;)

That's an incredibly useful video. Very nice. I can actually see a use for the Gunner and the Clutch. One is more compact and suitable for travel. Also, that for and aft adjustment on the Gunner is very nice. The Clutch would clearly be more comfy to operate for long periods of time.

Hoping to budget one of these in by April.

Random question actually. Ever since I saw the image of the Red Touch 9.0" LCD I've been curious about it. Is that something slated for 2012?

Also, extra random question. Has Red ever been interested in making motion picture lights? Seems doable to me :)

Buncha Gunners going into stock again shortly...

I know I know. They did make a matte box though and there are plenty of other ones! Maybe one day...

Tonaci's video is a usefull but not the most informative. None the less, thank you Tonaci!

BUT

RED should do a series of pictures showing different config and the equipment used

or Better

Different videos showing those config.

or EVEN Better

An interactive app where you can build your onwn config using the different rail components available... like playing with Lego TM.

I need to touch it (or see it)!
In store, they are not very convincing.

One of the great/terrible things about the RED system is that it is so frickin' flexible. I suppose if I had unlimited funds and time, I'd just buy a bunch of stuff and play around with it. But it sure seems hard to imagine ahead of time what pieces and parts you might want, how to fit them into a budget, and exactly which ones provide the flexibility you might want. This may be one of those cases where a product is just too powerful, and too complex. lol

RED was smart to offer the Clutch, as it is an understandable way to buy into the RED landscape of rigs. (although a little expensive for my budget!) A bunch of video clips outlining specific uses and set-ups would go a long way in helping them sell more accessories (assuming they get them in stock!)

If I buy an Epic M Package today, will I have to wait until every piece of the pack is available or will you send me items according to availability? I don't own RED previous power systems, what power solution do I have until Side Handles ar available? A/C? Buying a Backpack Quickplate?? Thanks!!

So many different configurations. This one is my fav thus far with the bomb spinner EVF, Red Wheel (coming soon), and Red Gunner.
Camera sits square on my shoulder, EVF is perfect height, optical height is great due to low profile base of the gunner (notice the lens is perfectly at my eye level), and my right arm is comfortably gripping.
Damn I love this!

I will be preparing a run through video of the many configs I have made to give you a sample of possibilities. coming soon.

I can adjust the EVF to fit my hand over or under. Or I can rack with my right hand, while gripping the mount with my left hand. Don't worry, all this stuff works in the real world. I shoot run and gun stuff, so been waiting for something like this to finally come out.
Using the LCD provides most access to focusing. I will demonstrate all of this in my video review.

Tonaci, could you provide a side profile of the shoulder mount config, just to see how far back the weight sits? Thanks.
